'Ugly Betty' Star Vanessa Williams Premieres 'Just Friends' Music Video
May 15, 2009 01:05:54Vanessa Williams comes out promoting her new single "Just Friends" by debuting a music video for it. The Wihelmina Slater of "Ugly Betty" is captured, in the video directed by Mike Ruiz, wearing a black outfit and performing the ballad song.
"Just Friends" is a new track penned and produced by Babyface. It is confirmed to serve as the first single from Vanessa's next studio album entitled "The Real Thing", which is set to come out in America on June 2.

Miley Cyrus Ordered to Do Chores, Given 'Master Class' to Deal With Stardom

Vanessa, who has witnessed the daily life of Miley and her family in their farm, praised the Disney star to have the "foundation" to deal with fame that prevents her from public break down. "She grew up in Tennessee on a great farm. They've got horses, she drives all the 4x4s, they make the kids do chores," Vanessa told OK! at the Mayor's Awards ceremony at the Apollo Theater in Harlem.

The awards show, which was held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, honored the best movies, and some good TV shows. Singer-songwriter and actress Vanessa Williams, who served as host, sang "I'm Flying" from the 2003 adventure flick "Peter Pan."
Comedians Mike Myers and Jonathan Winters were among the honorees. Myers received the Lucille Ball-Legacy of Laughter Award from Justin Timberlake, his co-star in "The Love Guru." Winters, elsewhere, was bestowed the Pioneer Award.

The awards show, took place Thursday, February 14 at the Shrine Auditorium, saw TBS' sitcom "Tyler Perry's House of Payne" won three top honors in the TV categories, mainly for Comedy Series, Actor in a Comedy Series for LaVan Davis, and Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Lance Gross.
CW Network's sitcom "Everybody Hates Chris" which was one of the leading award nominees with six nods, unfortunately, walked away with just one award which was for the category of Writing in a Comedy Series for Ali LeRoi. The other leading nominee "Girlfriends" which was up for six nods as well, sad to say, experienced worse fate as it won none.

Unlike the Penthouse shots, which showed Williams engaged in sexual acts with another woman, her posing for Allure magazine's May "Look Better Naked Issue" won't be too raunchy though an insider at Conde Nast said she was completely unclothed for the shoot at Lux Studio.
