Meet the 20 Castaways of 'Survivor: Samoa'

The bunch of people trying to survive in the wilderness while applying their strategical game moves on "" season 19 have been introduced. CBS unveiled the identities of 20 castaways who have been stranded on a Samoan island which is located in South Pacific this summer.

"This group reminds me a little bit of 'Fans vs. Favorites' in terms of there's a sense of fun and [it] actually looks like they'd be fun to hang out with," said host Jeff Probst. The line-up in fact consists of a cop with a hippy past, the first female Marine Sergeant brought to the show and "a man with an insane strategy". Premiere Dates of CBS' Fall 2009 Schedule

CBS will start its Fall 2009 season after mid September, putting "" as the opener. The Samoa edition of the survival game will kick off on Thursday, September 17 at 8/7c. On a later date, "Survivor" will be attached to "" and "" at 9/8c and 10/9c respectively.

The second wave of premiere begins on Monday, September 21 with half-hour comedies like "" and the newbie "". Meanwhile "" debuts its series after a lead-in from the original series on Tuesday, September 22.

'Survivor: Tocantins' Winner JT Commenting on Final Tribal Council

The winner of "" Tocantins edition has been determined and he spared sometime to comment on the final tribal council. JT aka James Thomas Jr. received unanimous votes, the second in the show's history after Earl Cole in "Survivor: Fiji". He also brought home an additional $100,000 for being a fan favorite.

Sitting down with the runner up Stephen Fishbach, he made commentaries regarding his feeling when the votes from Coach, Brendan, Taj, Erinn, Debbie, Sierra and Tyson were cast. JT thought that the voting would go as follow: Stephen at least got votes from Taj, Erinn as well as Tyson and he from Coach, Debbie and Brendan. Then Sierra's vote will be the determining factor. Stephen agreed to this.

"" has picked a winner for its Tocantins edition. 24-year-old cattle rancher James Thomas Jr. aka JT beat Stephen Fishbach and was voted unanimously to be the last one standing, becoming the show's second unanimous winner.

His victory was topped up with the announcement that he is also the recipient of $100,000 in cash as a result of being a fan favorite. "I can't help it," JT said during the live reunion show in New York. "I'm happy - it's probably the happiest I've ever been in my life, obviously."

Brendan Synnott Voted Out of 'Survivor: Tocantins'

Brendan Synnott has to turn back home from Brazil where he was voted out of the tribal of "" Tocantins edition. Four out of eight of his tribal mates chose him to leave, which is a close call to Sierra who received three.

"Brendan's the dragon, I'm the dragonslayer, this is going to be the biggest power move to date of this game, no question about it," Benjamin "Coach" Wade said after Brendan lost for the team in the Immunity Challenge. Coach also stated his next target, saying "Sierra is the bowel movements that comes out of the dragon."

Sydney Voted Out of 'Survivor: Tocantins', Ten to Go

Tribe Jalapao is missing one more leg as 24-year-old Sydney Wheeler was cast out on the April 2 episode by her mates. Jalapao is now down to 4 while Timbira stands strong with 6 but next week in "", the teams will merge and there's a chance of Taj joining some of the people from Timbira that she has formed alliances with.

Since the beginning of the third week, Sydney has been worrying that if Jalapao doesn't win the immunity challenge then either she or Taj will leave. Joe however, was looking out for her by saying that she should not worry about it. Taj meanwhile was considering to open up about her having the immunity idol, but retracted later.

Sandy Voted Out of 'Survivor Tocantins', Next Episode Previewed

Timbira and Jalapao are now equal in the number of members after bus driver Sandy was voted out of "", Tocantins edition, on Thursday, March 5 episode. She got four out of the 6 votes from her tribe, the other two being Sidney and Joe. "I stayed around a lot longer than I thought I was going to," Sandy said after the elimination. "I'm real proud of myself."

The ninth day was basically an episode focused on Sandy's annoying trait and Sydney's flirtatious strategy. When the Jalapao team won in the The Strongest Man Alive challenge through J.T., they get to raid Timbira's camp but out of fear that they will merge or shuffled in the future, the men only took one of the beans sacks and a water can. Sandy thought it was a stupid idea.

During the third Tribal Councils of "" Tocantins edition, 49-year-old Jerry Sims was voted out of the Timbira clan. The fight to be the last one standing continues in the fourth episode where one of Timbira's castaways 'loses his head'. Taj meanwhile, is plotting the 'biggest upset' on Survivor history. Called 'The Strongest Man Alive', the episode airs March 5.

Consistently scoring high ratings in almost all demographics, "Survivor" has been renewed for a couple more seasons by CBS. The seasons are aimed for 2009-2010 broadcast. "I am happy to be able produce two more editions of survivor for our loyal fans," stated Survivor executive producer Mark Burnett. "Our show stands for high quality family entertainment and all of us on this team will continue to deliver on this promise."

Another season of "" hit the TV screen last night (February 12) with its Tocantins edition. 16 castaways are traveled to the most remote area of Brazil and led to their camp which would be their home for the next 39 days. While the season premiere is full of insights to each of the survivors, the second episode will be marked with the first challenge.

In the episode of "The Poison Apple Needs to Go" which airs February 19, the tribes will be competing in a basketball game which is conducted in the middle of a shallow water. The game which is in the middle of a heavy rain, produces one shot "that changes everything".

Meet the 16 'Survivor: Tocantins' Castaways

The audition is over and the new season of "" is ready to get a kick start. The 16 castaways that will participate in the Tocantins edition of the reality game, have been announced. The line-up includes among others, models, a Grammy Awards nominee and a 19-year-old.

Sydney Wheeler (24), Sierra Reed (23) and Candace Smith (31) are models that will serve the women power. Tamara 'Taj' Johnson-George (37) meanwhile was one third of singing group SWV that grabbed a nomination at the Grammys and who was the star of reality show "I Married a Baller" in 2007. Also, if "Survivor: Gabon" had the oldest contestant, the Tocantins finds the youngest one in college student Spencer Duhm (19).

The last standing person to win "" Gabon edition has been revealed. Warning spoiler ahead. Beating Susie Smith from Charles City and Jessica "Sugar" Kiper is, 57-year-old physics teacher Robert "Bob" Crowley. He won a close call, receiving four out of the seven votes made by the jury.

At his age, Bob officially is the oldest contestant in the history of the show to have won the competition as well as one of the contestants with the most consecutive immunity challenges, five in total. He, therefore, won the one million dollar prize and crowned "the sole survivor" over Susie who got 3 votes. Sugar meanwhile, received none.

Preview of the Season Finale of 'Survivor: Gabon'

The remaining six people in "" Gabon edition will race towards the 1 million dollar price tomorrow, December 11 in the episode titled "The Good Guys Should Win in the End". A preview of the episode has been given, along with the ones for the 2 hour season finale and a reunion show on Sunday, December 14.

Those in capability to win the seventeenth season are Robert "Bob" Crowley from Portland, M.E.; Crystal Cox from Durham, N.C.; Jessica "Sugar" Kiper from Brooklyn, N.Y.; Ken "Kenny" Hoang from Westminster, C.A.; Matty Whitmore from Pacific Palisades, C.A. and Susie Smith from Charles City, I.A. CBS has made a press release of its mid-season schedule. Through the press release, the network has announced the return of the hit reality shows, "" and "", both of which will be set to air in the same month, February 2009.

On Thursday, February 12 at 8/7c, "Survivor", a reality show that follows a group of strangers put together in a remote island while competing in various challenges, will return to the small screen. Meanwhile, the 14th edition of "The Amazing Race" is scheduled to air on February 15 at 8/7c.
