"Although it's been a wonderful journey & experience at Interscope Records, after truly recognizing what's important to ME as an artist, I decided it was time for me to continue my path on a more independent platform," so she wrote.
In further statement, Solange thanked two executives from the label for giving her opportunity as part of the family. She stated, "I thank Ron [Fair] and Jimmy [Iovine] for believing in me as an artist and supporting my journey...and have nothing but respect for the Interscope family."
Beyonce Knowles and Keri Hilson Lead 2009 Soul Train Awards Noms
October 24, 2009 10:10:51After being absent from honoring musicians in 2008, Soul Train Music Awards comes back this year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Motown Records. Nominations for the upcoming event have been announced, revealing that Beyonce Knowles, Maxwell and Keri Hilson lead the pack with four nods each.
The three of them compete against each other in Song of the Year and Record of the Year. In addition, both Beyonce and Maxwell are also up for Album of the Year. Beyonce and Maxwell get their fourth kudos in Best Female and Male R&B/Soul Artist respectively. As for Keri, she receives her two other nominations in Best New Artist and Best Collaboration.

Solange and Kid are set to make collaboration with house band Wale and UCB. Meanwhile, Pete and Shakira are only scheduled to make appearance. Other big names set to attend the awards either to perform or just make appearance include Jack Black, Kristin Cavallari, Justin Bieber, Miranda Cosgrove as well as two members of The All-American Rejects, guitarist Nick Wheeler and frontman Tyson Ritter.

Solange Knowles Fainted at Airport, Rushed to Hospital

She was treated for dehydration and low blood pressure, the singer herself announced in a post on her Twitter, dated Wednesday, February 18.
It was stated on her Twitter that Solange tried to get some sleep early in her flight by consuming cough medicine. "I took a Nyquil, and I think maybe I'm getting high off it because I'm not sleeping," she wrote. "Everything's movvvvviinnngg slooooowww, LOL."

In the black-and-white music video, she is seen going down the stairs and walking straight through the streets. Her slow walk eventually becomes a hurried run with a couple of men and women following her from behind.
"T.O.N.Y." is a song narrating about a consequence of stepping into a one-night-stand relationship. The track comes off Solange's second studio album "Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams", which has come out in North America since August 26 via Music World and Geffen Records.

The tune, which features rapper Q-Tip, is confirmed to be listed on her second effort "Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams". The album is scheduled to be out on August 26 via Griffin Records.
Solange's music video for "Sandcastle" is directed by herself. The video is a departure from her "I Decided" video that sees her going back to the '70s fashion. The new one sees a colorful set with lots of animations. At several scenes Solange turns a tiny figure who plays around with giant music instruments such as the piano, guitar and the drum set. It also features her singing with the band and two backup singers.

After earning credits for writing some of her sister's tracks, Solange Knowles finally takes the position behind the mic herself. The younger sister of Beyonce Knowles is gearing up the work of an "old sixties and seventies" record that will be released in the first quarter of 2008.
The album is called 'Solange & The Hadley Street Dreams' and it is part of Solange's project where she gets involved 90 percent in the writing. "I've written 80 to 90 percent of everything on my new album," she said in an interview with Essence magazine. "The one co-write I do have is with Bilal. Other than him, I have Q-Tip on the record, who is someone I grew up admiring as an artist, and I have a song with Marsha Ambrosius from Floetry."

Poppa Mathew is having his Music World Entertainment partnered with Planet Toys to launch the so-called Baby Jamz, the first-ever hip-hop/rhythm-inspired pre-school toy line promoting creativity, learning and movement through music.
