June 05, 2008 01:06:45The long awaited music video for Solange Knowles' "I Decided" has just got its official world premiere via BET on June 4, 2008 at 8:30 P.M. ET. The clip was directed by Melina, who previously has worked with other famous musicians such as Beyonce Knowles, Eve and Kylie Minogue.
The new video is very unique as it captured the evolution of the pop culture starting from the '60s to the future. On the clip Solange was seen singing in different types of setting, starting from an American Bandstand, then went on to the Civil Rights Movement, to New Wave era and finally ended on a Cosmic Journey future.
Solange Knowles Taps Lil Wayne, Pharrell in New Album
April 23, 2008 01:04:33Following the news of her new album's release, Solange Knowles has now added more details about it. The sophomore album will be titled "Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams" and planned to be released on August 26.
The Beyonce Knowles' sister has also revealed the tracks for the new album, which are "I Decided", "Cosmic Journey", "Wanna Go Back", "Same Song, Different Man", "ChampagneChronicNightcap", "Ode to Marvin", "What's Going On", "T.O.N.Y.", "Sandcastle Disco" and "Would've Been The One".
In the tracks, Solange was working with lots of different musicians such as, Estelle on "Same Song, Different Man" and with Lil Wayne on "ChampaneChronicNightcap". Other famous names that also worked with her on the album were, Pharrell Williams, Mark Ronson, Bilal and many more.

Solange is reviving her '60s inspired band, The Hadley Street Dreams, by searching for 2 female background singers, 1 drummer, 1 guitar player, 2 keyboardists, and 1 bass player who is able to play upright as well. The selected musicians will be involved in many events leading and following the release of Solange's new album, "Soul Angel and the Hadley Street Dreams" which is due August this year.

November 30, 2007 10:11:29Beyonce Knowles' little sister Solange Knowles is gearing the work of her second album that has been worked on since last year. If previously the LP was going to be called 'Solange & The Hadley Street Dreams', it has been changed to simply 'Just What I Want', MTV revealed.
Apart from the already announced collaborators such as Bilal, Marsha Ambrosius and Q-Tip, there will be the addition of Cee-Lo and Lil Wayne. Solange will also use a song from Scottish electric duo Boards of Canada as a sample.

After earning credits for writing some of her sister's tracks, Solange Knowles finally takes the position behind the mic herself. The younger sister of Beyonce Knowles is gearing up the work of an "old sixties and seventies" record that will be released in the first quarter of 2008.
The album is called 'Solange & The Hadley Street Dreams' and it is part of Solange's project where she gets involved 90 percent in the writing. "I've written 80 to 90 percent of everything on my new album," she said in an interview with Essence magazine. "The one co-write I do have is with Bilal. Other than him, I have Q-Tip on the record, who is someone I grew up admiring as an artist, and I have a song with Marsha Ambrosius from Floetry."

Stepping into the light, Beyonce Knowles' sister Solange Knowles is gearing the work of a new album which is slated for a 2008 release. The 21-year-old singer has just signed an exclusive deal with EMI that will entitle her to the worldwide publishing of her music.
Big Jon Platt, the Exec Vice President of Urban EMI said, "Solange first came to our attention four years ago when her father and manager, Mathew Knowles, pointed her out to me. Immediately I knew something was there, that special quality that's hard to define, but one that you can't miss."

The Knowles clan is licensing their name to yet another product. Mathew Knowles, the father-manager of R&B singer Beyonce Knowles, works hand in hand with sister Solange Knowles to launch a new series of hip-hop baby toys.
Poppa Mathew is having his Music World Entertainment partnered with Planet Toys to launch the so-called Baby Jamz, the first-ever hip-hop/rhythm-inspired pre-school toy line promoting creativity, learning and movement through music.
