Names mentioned include Oscar-recognized Meryl Streep and Uma Thurman with fellow actresses like Kyra Sedgwick, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Keri Russell, Kerry Washington, Vera Farmiga, and Indian beauty Tabu also in the list. Meanwhile, the male side for now is only represented by actor Peter Sarsgaard and director Sidney Lumet, whose latest work "Before The Devil Knows You're Dead" is currently circulating in theaters.

Lining up together to join Ben Kingsley and Penelope Cruz, Peter Sarsgaard, Patricia Clarkson, Dennis Hopper, and Deborah Harry have all given their agreement to take part in Lakeshore Entertainment's dramatic feature "Elegy", The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Based on Philip Roth's Pulitzer Prize-winning novella "The Dying Animal", the project sees Kingsley as a cultural critic named David Kepesh who finds his life gets thrown into tragic disarray by her sophisticated student Consuela Castillo, played by Cruz, after they embark on an erotic affair. It is still unclear yet what role the four are set to portray.

Picking up one more bright talent, "Rendition" has satisfyingly added "Flightplan" star Peter Sarsgaard into its cast, which has already consisted of A-list thespians Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon.
A New Line Cinema production, the flick takes its focus on a CIA agent in the Middle East who questions his assignment after observing a secret-police grilling of a suspect in a suicide bombing. Shooting is slated to begin later this fall with Gavin Hood directing and Kelley Sane penning the script.

Two shining stars, Sienna Miller and Peter Sarsgaard, are advancing in progress to join "The Mysteries of Pittsburgh", a flick based on Michael Chabon's 1988 debut novel. Miller is in final negotiations to play the role of Jane while Sarsgaard is still in talks for that of Cleveland who is a friend of the film's lead character, Art Bechstein.
Expected to start rolling by fall in Pennsylvania, "Pittsburgh" will be helmed by "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story" director Rawson Marshall Thurber who also writes the screenplay. The picture is the second Chabon tome to begin casting in recent months after Paramount Pictures has set to make "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay" based on Chabon's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel.

There are at least four more artists who are about to join the cast of the upcoming "Year of the Dog". The people are Peter Sarsgaard, Regina King, John C. Reilly and Laura Dern, all of whom are in negotiations to join Molly Shannon in the comedy flick.
The story centers on Peggy (Shannon), a happy-go-lucky secretary who lives alone with her beloved dog Pencil. But when Pencil unexpectedly dies, Peggy embarks on a journey of transformation.
