Black Eyed Peas to Perform at 2010 Grammy Nominations Concert
November 11, 2009 03:11:18Multiple Grammy award-winning act Black Eyed Peas are confirmed to make a live performance on December 2 when "The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! - Countdown to Music's Biggest Night" is held. Hosting the gig, meanwhile, will be LL Cool J who has tweeted his excitement on Twitter.
Rihanna, who won Best Rap/Sung Collaboration Grammy in 2007, reportedly is also appointed to attend the event. Other musical guests who will also be past Grammy winners and / or nominees are yet to be announced. The concert will be aired live from Club Nokia in Los Angeles by CBS at 8 P.M. as a one-hour TV special.
Neil Young Compiling New and Unreleased Materials in 'Chrome Dreams II'

Rocker Neil Young is set to release a new album that chronicles his 1977 unreleased album 'Chrome Dreams'. Although some materials from the unreleased CD eventually made it to several of his later albums, three songs were kept for 'Chrome Dreams II'.
There will also be 7 new songs that he wrote and played in front of 100 people at Reprise Records on last Wednesday (August 15). Produced by 'The Volume Dealers', Niko Bolas and himself, guest appearances includes Ben Keith, Ralph Molina and Rick Rosas.

Just when new albums started entering the chart last week, they are replaced by a fresh batch of new ones this week. Also, the number 100,000 has been broken this week after four consecutive weeks selling under that. The breaker is brand new album "Luvanmusiq" by Musiq Soulchild that sells 149,000 copies. This is the R&B artist's second #1 album since "Juslisen" in 2002. In Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart meanwhile Musiq also score a place in the Top 5 through single "B.U.D.D.Y.".
Another fresh-from-the-oven, Lloyd's "Street Love" reigns the second runner of the chart thanks to a sale of 144,000. Rapper Rich Boy entails behind at #3 with his self-titled album that sells 112,000 units. At no. 4 self titled album from old topper DAUGHTRY goes through a decrease sale from 82,000 to 80,000.
Foo Fighters to Release Acoustic Live Album

Foo Fighters is about to release an acoustic live album and DVD next month. The set, tentatively titled "Skin and Bones", will feature 15 live and acoustic tracks recorded in Los Angeles.
"Skin and Bones", due to hit stores on November 7th, was recorded at three August Los Angeles dates on the band's acoustic tour. It includes the songs, "In Your Honor," "Big Me," "Everlong," "My Hero" and "Walking After You."
Jerry Lee Lewis to Release "Redemption"

Got his fellow musicians to give contribution to his new album, Jerry Lee Lewis finally could have the set, tentatively titled "Redemption", released next September through Columbia Records.
The album, which is Lewis' first album in 11 years, was originally set for a February 2005 release via DreamWorks Nashville, which has since closed down.

Neil Young was on Tuesday April 25th, 2006 granted an okay for venture. The rocker has on that day won a bankruptcy court ruling to form a joint venture with Lionel LLC, the storied model train maker operating under protection from creditors.
Thus, the venture which is known as Liontech Trains LLC will then develop the latest version of Lionel's Trainmaster control system. As for you to know, Young who is a singer and songwriter as well is a model train enthusiast who owns about one-fifth of Lionel.

Starting from April 28 fans of Neil Young can log onto the singer's Web site, www.neilyoung.com, and listen to his newly recorded protest album "Living With War," containing 10-track collection in its entirety, free of charge. That's according to Bill Bentley, a spokesman for Warner Music Group's Reprise Records.
The album, moreover, will first become commercially available as a digital download beginning May 2, "and we plan to get it into retail stores as soon after that as we can get them manufactured," Bentley added. And as Neil Young wants the set to hit the market as soon as possible, the label consequently anticipates getting the album into retail outlets between May 5 and May 15.

Veteran rocker Neil Young is expressing truly what he's feeling inside in his upcoming album. The singer apparently has recorded an anti-war protest album on which he lashes out at George W Bush in a song titled "Impeach the President."
The 10-track set, called "Living with War," was recorded earlier in April and features a 100-strong choir, the Canadian-born musician announced on his Web site. As of the title track it includes lyrics such as: "On the flat-screen we kill and we're killed again. And when the night falls, I pray for peace."

Young's 19th Annual Bridge School Benefit Concerts
September 23, 2005 11:09:53Singer Neil Young is about to hold the 19th annual Bridge School Benefit concerts on October 29-30 at Shoreline Amphitheatre outside San Francisco. The Hillsborough, Calif.-based Bridge School is the school, which Young along with wife Pegi founded for children with severe physical disabilities.
For the sake of the benefit concerts, number of musicians like Dave Matthews Band, Norah Jones and Bright Eyes, have all tapped to lead the lineup. Young, in companion, will also perform with his CSNY band mates David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash.

He has signed a new, multi-album deal with the label, which is marked with the release of his latest studio set, "Prairie Wind," on September 27.
"I look forward to continuing my partnership with Reprise," Young admitted. "We've been through a lot together over the years. When you're with a company that long, it's like a family." Following the album release, there will be a long-awaited series of archival releases from Young, which according to Reprise, will feature previously unreleased studio recordings and rarities as well as live material.

Involved in this project are keyboardist Spooner Oldham, pedal steel guitarist Ben Keith and drummer Carl Himmel.
Further news mentioned Young is set to appear at the annual Farm Aid benefit concert September 18 in Tinley Park, Ill., which will feature performances from Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews Band, Wilco and Kenny Chesney. Young Honored Founders Award by ASCAP

The Monday tribute took place during the performing rights group's 22nd annual pop music awards, which honored the writers and copyright owners of the most performed songs of 2004.
Mentioned to bring home the awards were songwriter/producer Jermaine Dupri, who received the Golden Note Award, in part for "impacting the heart, soul and sound of pop music worldwide" and Scott Storch to be named songwriter of the year, mainly for his work on the Beyonce Knowles hits "Baby Boy," "Me, Myself & I" and "Naughty Girl." Performed on the event were Mariah Carey and R&B star Usher, both to sing Dupri's praises, while Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson turned up singing their tune "Ain't No Mountain High Enough."

Neil Young Recuperating From Brain Aneurysm
April 02, 2005 09:04:50Rocker Neil Young is recovering from a brain aneurysm after underwent a procedure to treat it Tuesday night at a New York hospital and remained there for a few more days. The aneurysm was firstly discovered when Young's vision became blurry after attending the March 14 induction ceremonies for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. An immediate examination by a neurologist detected the aneurysm and so the procedure was scheduled.
Dr. Pierre Gobin, who performed the procedure with another doctor, said that Young had a dangerous brain aneurysm and was treated successfully by the minimally invasive neuroradiology team in the hospital. And now he's ok, but is strongly recommended not to travel for several days. Had been expected to perform Sunday at the Juno Awards, the 59-year-old man says his regret that he isn't able to make it to Winnipeg for the Junos as he hoped.
