Nashville's Music City Honors Its Inductees

A new batch of inductees was introduced last Sunday. Nashville's Music City Walk of Fame honored musicians such as Wynonna Judd, Emmylou Harris, Michael W. Smith, John Hiatt, The Crickets and Frances W. Preston.
"The greatest credit to a writer is to have good writers cover their songs, John's songs have been recorded by Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Willie Nelson," said Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's Jeff Hanna who handed Hiatt's honorary. Actor Jim Caviezel on behalf of Smith said that the singer and songwriter has been such an inspiration both for him and other musicians.
Michael W. Smith Leads 2005 Dove Award Nominations
February 08, 2005 09:02:12The Doves, Christian music's version of the Grammy Awards which will be presented April 13th, 2005 has been dominated by the famous Christian singer, Michael W Smith who gets in hand eight nominations, including artist and song of the year he gets for his "Healing Rain" song.
After Smith there is Casting Crowns who gets six nominations as its lead singer and songwriter, Mark Hall, has six individual nominations. Seat in the same position is The Crabb Family that also has six nominations and its leader, Gerald Crabb himself, gets six nominations for the song he has written. To add there are also Switchfoot, MercyMe, Israel Houghton and Matthew West all which have five nominations for each.
