Korn Found Munky's Replacement for European Tour
January 19, 2008 10:01:31Korn have found the replacement for guitarist James "Munky"Shaffer who announced his time out from the band earlier this week. According to HardDrive Radio, the nu metal band that have just started their European tour, hired Rob Patterson as their guitarist and opted Ray Luzier as their drummer, sitting for David Silveria who took an indefinite hiatus in 2006.
"Yeah, I'm the new drummer for Korn now," Luzier told Ultimate-Guitar.com. "We start in Dublin, Ireland on the 13th of this month and we have a big world tour coming up right now. We're going everywhere, all over the U.K. and we're going to go to Dubai, South Africa, Russia. It's a crazy tour."
Patterson was the band's supporting guitarist during Family Value Tour 2006 while Luzier was formerly in Army of Anyone. Their status is limited to being the touring members, not the official ones. After all there is still possibility that Munky will return to the band.
Korn 'Hold On' to Their Bulls in New Music Video

Sources said the video is dedicated to bullrider Lane Frost who died in 1989 after injured while dismounting his bull.
Korn's Guitarist Explains Drummer's Departure

If Terry Bozzio cited "personal conflicts" as the reason he left Korn, the band's guitarist James Shaffer went for details. Shaffer revealed that Bozzio departed after the drummer made "offensive" demand to the band.
“There were certain demands that he made," Shaffer spoke. "We weren't ready to meet those demands. He was a great guy and a phenomenal drummer but the demands that he made were offensive. He wanted to be a member of the band, and that included ownership. We were like, 'What, you want to have 25 per cent of everything?' We can't just sign away the right to music on a whim."
Korn Selecting Songs to Cover for New Album

A new direction to Korn's highly anticipated album has been unveiled. The nu metal band may have a set of songs that are fully covers for the untitled album that is arriving July 31 via Virgin.
Frontman Jonathan Davis told Billboard, "We've already done, like, 'Love My Way' from Psychedelic Furs. We've done 'We Care a Lot' from Faith No More [and Nine Inch Nails'] 'Head Like a Hole.' Those are already recorded. We just gotta get in and do some more."
Korn Ties Evanescence to Co-headline

Family Values Tour is back this year. Korn's Jonathan Davis had announced through VirtualMTV.com that Evanescence is made the headliner.
Supporting this event are metalcore band Atreyu, alternative rock band Flyleaf, trash metal band Trivium and the newly formed rock band Hellyeah. "It's gonna rock," he typed on the computer. One of Korn's members, David Silveria meanwhile, will not be present because he is in hiatus.

On March 6, 2007, three days before the 10th anniversary of Notorious B.I.G.'s death, Bad Boy Records released the compilation of his best pieces, "Greatest Hits". One week later, it debuted at #1 on US Billboard 200 chart with 99,000 copies sold. This is his third No.1 peak since "Life After Death" (1997) and "Born Again" (1999).
Indie rock band Arcade Fire that just entered the chart this week soars to #2 with the album "Neon Bible" at 92,000 copies. The chart topper last week, DAUGHTRY with self-titled album sold only 82,000 copies and therefore falls to #3. Akon's "Konvicted" then is down to No. 4 with total sales of 76,000.
Korn Frontman Talks Band's Unplugged and New Studio Album

Rock band Korn will have two new projects out within this year. Frontman, Jonathan Davis, confirmed the report saying the band will first of all have their "MTV Unplugged" hit the stores on March 6. The special will first appear online on MTV.com on February 24, then air on the network in March.
For the set, Korn has recruited some music experts, including orchestrator Richard Gibbs as "music supervisor" and Amy Lee of Evanescence to join them for one of the set's single, titled "Freak On A Leash".
Korn Cancels Its European Tour

Rap-rock band Korn has to unfortunately cancel the remaining dates of its European tour after frontman Jonathan Davis was hospitalized and diagnosed with a blood disorder.
Explaining on his latest condition, in a post on the band's official Website, the singer told fans he had checked into a London hospital following Saturday's gig at the U.K.'s Download Festival. Doctors told him he had immune thrombocytopenic purpura, an infection that prevents platelets produced by bone marrow from clotting normally.

Have played many memorable shows over the years, music group Korn has brilliantly put them in their latest DVD, tentatively titled "Korn: Live on the Other Side," due June 20.
The set reportedly features Korn's entire set at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York last November besides that of behind-the-scenes footage and interviews, as well as a Big Apple bus tour of New York that the band took with its fans.
Korn Parted Ways with Touring Guitarist Rob Patterson

Music group Korn and its touring guitarist Rob Patterson have both parted ways. Patterson was hired as Korn's touring guitarist last summer after founding axe-man Brian Welch left the group in early 2005, that's for everybody to know.
And due to such fact, a replacement guitarist who was not immediately identified has already been secured and is currently out with the band on its European tour. Though so, Patterson, who supposed to remain offstage, did appear onstage during Korn's recent North American tour.

Give applause to Korn who after five years hiatus manages to resurrect their Family Values tour. The music act reportedly are getting ready to go on a summer tour around USA with the help from the likes of Deftones, Stone Stour, Felyleaf and some Japanese new-comers to the rock scene, all of whom to join them on the trek.
The "new" Family Values tour will be begun on July 27th at Virginia Beach with tickets worth for $9.99. Aside from the main stage, where Korn and the already onboard supporting performers will play, there will also be a second stage with bands to be announced soon.
A Small Stretch of Road Renamed to Honor Korn

"Korn Row" that's how the small stretch of road near Bakersfield, California's Rabobank Arena is now called. The access road to the arena has been renamed to honor hometown Grammy-winning rock group Korn.
There you can see a road sign read "Korn Row" with the "R" in Korn is flipped backward, mimicking the rock group's logo. Concerning their music achievement and dedication to their hometown, Korn certainly deserves it.
Rock Band Korn Joint Venture with Live Nation

The agreement, expands on a partnership Korn created with EMI Group Plc in September, stated Live Nation, EMI and Korn will now partner and share in Korn's recording, publishing, touring, merchandising, sponsorship and other activities.

Musicians Do Almost Acoustic Xmas Show for KROQ-FM

As of our musicians, they are also busy with the preparation for the Los Angeles radio station KROQ-FM's annual Almost Acoustic Xmas show to be held December 10-11 at the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk.
Those who have signed on to perform on the show among others are Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Coldplay, The White Stripes, System of a Down, and Korn. Korn & Virgin; Deal

Per EMI, the deal is modeled on its arrangement with U.K. notable singer Robbie Williams, in which both parties benefit from the revenue generated by non-album activities.
Korn's as-yet-untitled Virgin debut is expected before the end of the year. The new album will be the follow-up to the band 2003's "Take a Look in the Mirror," and will also be their first since guitarist Brian "Head" Welch departed in February to follow God.
Brian "Head" Welch has been Baptized

Just weeks after quitting his band, drug habits and rock-and-roll lifestyle for religion, Brian now "feels like hugging people" after he previously felt like hurting someone because of his anger.
Korn Guitarist Quits
February 24, 2005 09:02:39Korn guitarist, Brian Welch has decided to quit from the heavy metal act band whom he had joined with for the past 13 years. He's found Jesus Christ, his saviour and thus he wants to pursue a life with Him and will be dedicating his musical pursuits to that end, CA rock station KRAB-FM announced on Sunday on Bakersfield.
In an official letter of resignation from the band on February 8th, Welch says that he remains good friends with Korn who, according to him, respect his wishes and hope his happiness in the same way he loves those guys in the group. Further, Welch promising for an explanation of his reasons for leaving and future plans in this Sunday February 27th, when he attends the congregation at the Valley Bible Fellowship in Bakersfield, California.
