Announced at Houston's Toyota Center on November 13, he is awarded trophies for "Record of the Year", "Album of the Year", "Song of the Year", "Best Male Pop Vocal Album", and "Short Form Music Video".
"This is incredible. A million thanks, truly," Juanes said during the ceremony. "I have to thank my father, who is in heaven, God, my children. Since I was very young, my family taught me to listen to Latin-American music ... They have all been an influence."
Jennifer Lopez Brings Famous Musicians to Perform at L.A. Hospital Gala
May 15, 2008 02:05:13Having twin babies of her own, Jennifer Lopez is touched by the needy children who are being treated annually by Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and thus has revealed her intention to offer some help. The actress-singer announced Wednesday, May 14 that she's going to host and help coordinate the third Noche de Ninos benefit gala, which is set to take place October 11 later this year at the Nokia Center.
Thanks to her twins Max and Emme, from whom Lopez gets the inspiration to get more involved in the cause. "Doing something where I was proactive ... where I was the one pushing and making something happen, that just became very important to me," the Associated Press quoted her as saying. "I don't know if it was because I was pregnant and thinking about children, thinking about the world. Definitely my children inspire me very much in so many ways, even just in the past two and a half months of their little lives."

March 05, 2008 03:03:37Colombian singer Juanes has premiered a music video for his latest single, "Gotas de Agua Dulce" on Yahoo! Music. The song which is translated "Drops of Sweet Water" in English, is the title to the second single from his 2007 album "La Vida...Es un Ratico".
The track has entered U.S. Billboard Latin Tracks at #19 and quickly moved up to #1 in February. It is the follow up to his single "Me Enamora" that also peaked at #1 on the same chart.

A crowd of some 10,000 packed the Palacio de los Deportes Thursday night Oct 19th for the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards Latin America. Those handful people saw the winning of successful Mexican singer and songwriter Julieta Venegas who took home the Best Performer award.
The Grammy winning singer was actually nominated for five other categories, including Best Video, Artist of the Year and Song of the Year among others. Unfortunately she only won one. Aside, Colombian rock singer-songwriter Juanes won the Best Artist-Central award. Also there was the likes of Robbie Williams who nabbed the Best Pop International award, and My Chemical Romance who was handed the Best Rock International award.

Colombian pop music star Shakira was the top winner at this year Billboard Latin Music Awards held Thursday April 27th, 2006. The beauty led the night event with five trophies all at once, four of which were Hot Latin Song Of The Year; Hot Latin Song Of The Year, Vocal Duet; Latin Pop Airplay Song Of The Year, Duo or Group; and Latin Ringtone Of The Year for "La Tortura" which she shared with Alejandro Sanz, while the other one was for Latin Pop Album Of The Year, Female thanks "Fijacion Oral Vol. 1".
Among some other winners was Juanes who brought home the Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Latin Pop Airplay Song Of The Year, Male for "La Camisa Negra", and Songwriter Of The Year award, Reyli who won the category of Latin Pop Album of the Year, Male for "En La Luna", and RBD who nabbed two awards of Latin Pop Album Of The Year, Duo or Group and Latin Pop Album Of The Year, New Artist both for "Rebelde". Besides them all there were also Daddy Yankee, La Secta Allstar, Andy Andy, and many others.
Shakira Plans A Live Aid-Style Event

Shakira is getting more and more serious in taking in hand poverty causes, especially that in her country. Apparently, the Colombian pop singer recently revealed that she has teamed with a group of Latin artists to organize a Live Aid-style event that will help the poor people of her continent.
She says "We want this to be an event that brings world attention to poverty in Latin America, which is virtually invisible to the rest of the world." The event reportedly is slated to be held in 2007, though details on it have yet been revealed. Sources say the artists involved will among others include Juanes, Alejandro Sanz and Miguel Bosa, who all have track records of working for worthy causes.

Leading the nominees is Puerto Rican reggaeton sensation Daddy Yankee who grabs 10 nominations, including that of Artist Of The Year, Hot Latin Songs Artist and Songwriter Of The Year.
Following close behind with nine nominations is Mexico's pop group RBD, which is soon followed by Shakira with eight nominations. After all there is Juanes and Puerto Rican artist Olga Tanon with five nominations each. The awards will be handed out in Miami and be broadcast live on Telemundo. Joint Masters of Ceremony for the Nobel Concert

The twosome has been slated to appear during the event for laureate Mohamed ElBaradei and the International Atomic Energy Agency he leads, organizers said Tuesday.
Joining them as the event MC among others are artists Gladys Knight, Duran Duran and Sugababes. Meanwhile, the likes of Westlife, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, Colombian rock star Juanes and Welsh opera singer Katherine Jenkins are all expected to live up the event.

Speaking on their reason to choose Paulina, the magazine simply explained "The truth is that `The Golden Girl' is someone who combines talent, charisma and success, and nobody can deny that. Everybody wants to know what Pau is doing and where she is."
