While the music and movie figures celebrated their winning at this year BET Awards, held Tuesday night June 26th, some of the athletes also cheered on their award winning.
Among the athletes honored during the award event was professional basketball player LeBron James who currently plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The so-called King James won the award for Best Male Athlete. As of the Best Female Athlete, the award was given to American former World No. 1 ranked female tennis player Serena Williams.

Black Entertainment Television (BET) has on Wednesday April 16th unveiled its nominee list for its 7th Annual BET Awards at a press conference held at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles. Hosted by comedienne Mo'Nique, BET organizers among any other categories named the special honorees and nominees vying for Best Male and Female Athlete awards.
Music diva Diana Ross is one of the honorees. She is slated to be handed BET Lifetime Achievement Award for her significant musical career. Meanwhile, actor Don Cheadle will be presented with this year's BET Humanitarian Award for his dedication to humanity.

Diana Ross has confirmed to CBS "Late Show" host David Letterman on Tuesday January 16th that she's going to be a mentor on Fox's "American Idol".
That's not all, the singer reportedly also is planning a world tour in March later this year to promote her new album, "I Love You." Dates on the tour, however, have not yet been announced.

The diva is preparing to issue an extremely rare, previously unreleased collection of jazz standards she recorded more than 30 years ago in June later this year. The set, titled "Blue", supposedly was released in companion with the release of the 1972 soundtrack to "Lady Sings the Blues", in which Ross portrayed jazz legend Billie Holiday.
