Tom meets with Trevor Nelsson to discuss business. Trevor informs Tom that his client would like to buy Tom out of the Rent-a-Swag business for an exorbitant amount of money. Playing hard-to-get, Tom says he'll have to think about the offer.

The Parks Department is busily planning the City Hall Halloween party. Leslie, however, is painfully distracted by the recall vote, which is happening today. As much as she tries, she can't keep her mind off of the recall.

Meanwhile, Tom and Donna are ecstatic because Ron's handmade chairs were mentioned on Bloosh.com, a popular website highlighting couture, must-have items. Ron, on the other hand, is offended by the portrayal of his chair as a trendy accessory rather than a functional piece of furniture.

While Leslie continues to let her recall vote nerves get the best of her, Ben and Ann make it their mission to keep her calm and relaxed. Unfortunately, the results of the vote come in more quickly than expected. When Leslie learns early in the evening that she has lost the recall vote, depression quickly sets in. Leslie immediately decides to throw all of her ideals to the wind and stop caring about anything.

April is sad because she misses Andy (Halloween was their favorite holiday), so Chris tries to cheer her up by orchestrating a series of pranks. Meanwhile, Ron goes on a local talk show to discuss his trendy chairs and he immediately hates everything about Bloosh and the popularization of his furniture.

Back at City Hall, Leslie continues to frighten children with her newly discovered defeatist attitude. Ben and Ann decide they'll have to up the juice to get Leslie out of her post-recall funk. Ben's efforts are thwarted, however, when he inherits Leslie's negative attitude and plummets into the void of depression with her. Eventually, they decide to head to a nearby pawnshop to get matching tattoos. Yes, that's right: a pawnshop. Luckily, a sober Ann comes to the rescue in the nick of time.

Ron attends a Bloosh event and hates everything about it. Tom tries to get Bloosh's owner to promote Rent-a-Swag in order to turn his business around, but she's only interested in Ron's chairs. Though she tries to butter Ron up, he refuses to sell the rights to his chairs to her, insisting that Ron Swanson chairs are special because they're individually handmade.

Tom meets with Trevor Nelsson, whose client would like to buy Rent-a-Swag from Tom. After his failed attempt to woo Bloosh in order to turn his business around, Tom agrees to sell Rent-a-Swag and use the money to seed his next business venture. Meanwhile, Leslie eventually accepts her fate and delivers a sincere and heartfelt consolation speech to the residents of Pawnee before she begins her new path in life.
