AceShowbiz - The Danity Kane is currently embroiled in a heated internal conflict after D. Woods and Aundrea Fimbres independently booked a performance at the LA Block Party on June 20 at Pershing Square without informing the remaining members.
This surprise booking, intended to celebrate the group's 20th anniversary, quickly escalated tensions as the official Danity Kane Instagram account issued a statement clarifying the situation and condemning the move as deceptive.
The statement made it clear that the upcoming LA Block Party appearance is not a full reunion. Only two members—D. Woods and Aundrea Fimbres—will be performing, while Dawn Richard, Aubrey O'Day, and Shannon Bex were neither informed nor will attend.
Furthermore, the official page criticized the event’s promotion, calling it "false advertising and a misleading promotion," as the flyer prominently displays the Danity Kane name in bold letters, suggesting a full group performance. This has reportedly caused confusion among fans expecting the entire lineup.
The official statement emphasized that "presenting a two-member lineup under the full Danity Kane name without clear and accurate disclosure results in deception of fans and a clear misrepresentation of what is being offered." An apology was issued for the confusion, but the backlash had already taken hold.
Responding via her Instagram Stories, D. Woods defended the decision, noting that there have been "many versions and configurations of Danity Kane" throughout the years. She expressed gratitude to fans and said she and Aundrea Fimbres are eager to deliver a strong performance at the event.
However, this response further highlighted the divide, confirming that the other three members were completely out of the loop regarding the booking.
The LA Block Party will also feature artists like Keyshia Cole, Mario, and Fabolous, but much of the current conversation centers on whether Danity Kane can still operate cohesively as a group.
This controversy adds to an already complicated reunion period for Danity Kane. Their recent Untold Chapter Tour, which ended in January, involved only Aubrey O'Day, Aundrea Fimbres, and D. Woods, excluding Dawn Richard and Shannon Bex.
Originally formed during the third season of Diddy's "Making the Band" and signed to Bad Boy Records, the group now faces challenges in uniting under the Danity Kane name, as internal disagreements overshadow their legacy.
