AceShowbiz - Veteran unscripted television executive Barry Poznick is set to transition from his current leadership position as general manager of unscripted TV at Amazon MGM Studios. After a significant tenure, Poznick will step down from his daily operational role, embarking on a new three-year executive producer agreement with the studio, signaling a strategic shift in his involvement with their expansive reality programming slate.
The change is slated to take effect in January, at which point Poznick will officially begin his new EP deal. This move comes after nearly a decade during which he spearheaded MGM Alternative, playing a pivotal role in shaping and expanding the studio's unscripted content portfolio. His leadership saw the development and success of numerous high-profile reality franchises that have become staples in television households across the country.
Under the terms of his new agreement, Poznick will remain an executive producer on a multitude of MGM's flagship reality series. This includes continuing his oversight on massively popular shows such as NBC's Emmy-winning singing competition The Voice and ABC's entrepreneurial hit Shark Tank. His influence will also extend to the prolific Real Housewives franchise, covering fan favorites like The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, and The Real Housewives of Orange County. Furthermore, he will continue to work on Bravo's popular spin-off Vanderpump Rules and the recently revived competition series American Gladiators, among other projects.
This strategic pivot allows Poznick to focus his expertise on creative development and production across these established and potentially new ventures, maintaining his deep connection to the unscripted landscape at Amazon MGM Studios. His long-standing experience and proven track record are expected to ensure continued success for these vital franchises under his executive guidance.
