
Tom Cruise emotionally paid tribute to his 'Top Gun' co-star Val Kilmer as he took the stage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas a few days after Kilmer passed away at the age of 65.

"I can't tell you how much I admire his work, how grateful and honored I was when he joined ‘Top Gun' and came back later for "Top Gun: Maverick,' " he added, reflecting on their collaborations in the iconic 1986 movie and its 2022 sequel.
The audience was invited to join Cruise in a moment of silence to remember the "wonderful times" shared with Kilmer. "I wish you well on the next journey," he concluded.
Kilmer, who played Tom "Iceman" Kazansky, had a storied career that was halted due to a battle with throat cancer diagnosed in 2015. Despite his health challenges, Kilmer returned in 2022 for "Top Gun: Maverick," where he communicated through AI technology.
