Country music star Carly Pearce opens up about her difficult journey to seek an answer for her health issue as her 'intense' symptoms were brushed off by a lot of doctors.

AceShowbiz - At 34, Carly Pearce is not only a rising star in the country music scene but also a beacon of hope and resilience for many. Pearce recently shared her health journey amid her ongoing struggle with pericarditis, an "intense" heart condition.

Pearce's journey to diagnosis wasn't straightforward. "A lot of doctors dismissed me, and I was persistent until I got a diagnosis," Pearce said in an interview with Fox News Digital. "My biggest piece of advice for anybody is: Listen to your body, and be your own advocate."

Pericarditis, as explained by the American Heart Association, is an inflammation of the pericardium - a sac-like structure with two thin layers that surround the heart. This condition can cause debilitating chest pain and shortness of breath, symptoms that Pearce has been battling for nearly five years.

Earlier this year, Pearce detailed her symptoms, describing a "really debilitating chest pain that was only relieved if I bent over like this (leaning forward), and that's a classic symptom of pericarditis."

She also experienced "really intense shortness of breath," adding to the challenges she faced while continuing her "Hummingbird" tour.

Her family's history of heart issues further underscores the seriousness of her condition. Her father survived a widowmaker heart attack when she was just 19.

Despite her health struggles, Pearce remains determined to continue her passion for music while managing her condition. "I've been working with doctors and talking to my cardiologist," she shared on social media, emphasizing her commitment to staying active in her career while prioritizing her health.
