Patrick Schwarzenegger shared an untold story behind his surprise engagement to Abby Champion, recounting the role played by his famous brother-in-law in his romantic proposal.

AceShowbiz - Patrick Schwarzenegger recently opened up about his heartfelt engagement to Abby Champion, highlighting the pivotal role his brother-in-law, Chris Pratt, played in orchestrating the memorable moment.

The details of the romantic beach proposal were shared during his appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show", revealing a beautifully unique love story that young couples can draw inspiration from.

Schwarzenegger, who recently joined "The White Lotus", recounted how the "Guardians of the Galaxy" star set up the perfect proposal setting and nearly ruined the surprise at the last minute. He mentioned, "He helped set up the surprise proposal on the beach by laying out 'all these roses and all these flowers," but was unprepared when the couple showed up so early.

Caught off guard by their early arrival, Pratt amusingly had to make a quick exit, adding a spontaneous twist to the special occasion. "And then right when we walked down, he jumped up with the umbrella and ran away," Schwarzenegger reminisced.

Despite the humorous hiccup, the proposal was beautifully executed. "We'd been together for so long that I wanted to find some way that was gonna be kind of unique and still, you know, surprise her and so we go on a little morning sunrise walk at 6 a.m. down to the beach and that's when I did it," he added, emphasizing the personal and intimate nature of the moment.

The presence of both their families made the event even more significant, as they were "all hiding in the lifeguard station down at the beach," awaiting the moment with bated breath.

The culmination of their long-term relationship, which began in September 2015 and was made Instagram official in February 2016, was celebrated with the couple's joint Instagram post in December 2023, showcasing romantic photos from the beach proposal.

At the same time, Schwarzenegger's career was thriving as he landed a role on "The White Lotus". This, however, led to a temporary delay in their wedding plans, as he had to relocate to Thailand for filming.

Yet, the couple remained optimistic and committed, with Schwarzenegger sharing, "I'm so sorry but I am moving to Thailand for the next seven months, and we're gonna have to push the wedding."

Their decade-long relationship has been a testament to enduring love despite frequent separations due to work. "We love each other and it's okay when she goes away for a week or I go away for a month filming," Schwarzenegger once told E! News.

Their story, filled with heartfelt moments and unwavering support, resonates deeply, especially with young couples navigating the complexities of modern relationships.
