Joe Alwyn has shared his keen interest in replacing Daniel Craig to take on the iconic role of 007 during a red carpet interview at the 97th annual Academy Awards.

AceShowbiz - Hollywood buzzed with excitement when "The Brutalist" actor Joe Alwyn expressed his interest in portraying James Bond. The revelation was made during Variety's interview with Alwyn on the red carpet at the 97th Academy Awards.

"Oh, wow. Who wouldn't throw their hat in the ring? You know?" Alwyn responded when asked about his interest in taking over the legendary role. He even joked, "if you're offering!"

The conversation didn't stop there; Alwyn who's also known for his past relationship with Taylor Swift revealed his martini preference, stating he likes them both "shaken and stirred."

The Bond franchise is set to evolve once again with Daniel Craig's departure following the 2021 film "No Time to Die." This transition has fueled speculation about who will be next to step into the shoes of the iconic MI6 agent, a role previously filled by the likes of Sean Connery, Roger Moore, and Pierce Brosnan.

The Oscars night wasn't just about speculations and aspirations, though. The event, which was hosted by Conan O'Brien, also celebrated significant wins and memorable moments. Alwyn's co-star Adrien Brody won the Best Actor award for "The Brutalist" while "Anora" took home the Best Picture award along with four others, including Best Director for Sean Baker.

Demi Moore, who was expected to win the Best Actress award for her role in "The Substance," lost out to Mikey Madison from "Anora." Zoe Saldana's win for Best Supporting Actress for "Emilia Perez" also stood out, especially given the controversy surrounding her film and co-star, Karla Sofia Gascon.

The Oscars featured a tribute to the Bond franchise, with former Bond girl Halle Berry reminiscing about her time working on "Die Another Day." She noted, "Every generation does have its Bond, you know. The world revolves, it evolves and so does he. But that signature mix of danger, style and intrigue? Well, now, that's timeless."

With producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson handing over creative control to Amazon MGM Studios, the future of the Bond series promises to be a roller coaster one since the studio is rumored to give the franchise a Marvel-like treatment to expand the universe - a move that sparked heated debate among die-hard Bond fans.

As Alwyn's name joins the roster of potential Bond candidates, fans eagerly await the official announcement for the next super spy.
