AceShowbiz - Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick are back, and the stakes are higher than ever in "Another Simple Favor", directed by Paul Feig.

Released on May 1 by Amazon MGM Studios, the sequel picks up seven years after the events of the original film, "A Simple Favor", where Lively played the enigmatic Emily Nelson and Kendrick starred as the resourceful mommy blogger Stephanie Smothers.

The first film captivated audiences with its unexpected twists and dark humor, leaving fans eager for more.

In the latest installment, Emily invites Stephanie to be the maid of honor at her luxurious wedding on the island of Capri, Italy. The picturesque setting, however, conceals a darker agenda.

The trailer hints at unresolved tensions and possible revenge plots as Emily confronts Stephanie, saying, "Do you think I invited you to get revenge for stealing my life and taking my kid away from me?" With Stephanie's perplexed response, "I don't know, are you?," the stage is set for a gripping reunion.

The sequel retains the original's star power with returning cast members Henry Golding, Kelly McCormack, Andrew Rannells, and Bashir Salahuddin.

Adding to the drama is the backdrop of Emily's imprisonment from the previous film and her mysterious plans post-incarceration. Alongside the glamorous wedding guests, viewers can expect a blend of betrayal, murder, and explosive scenes, reminiscent of a high-stakes thriller.

While the first film featured the Aviator gin owned by Lively's husband Ryan Reynolds, the follow-up movie has director Paul Feig's own Artingstall brand.
