AceShowbiz - Lisa Vanderpump landed in hot water for downplaying "Vanderpump Rules" star James Kennedy's alleged domestic violence incident. Among her loudest critics was Kristen Doute who once dated Kennedy.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Vanderpump claimed that Kennedy did not physically harm his then-girlfriend, Ally Lewber, during their heated argument. "He never hurts her. They were both drinking," Vanderpump stated, dismissing the incident as a "ridiculous" argument that escalated due to excessive alcohol consumption.

Doute, who has been vocal about the alleged abuse she suffered during their relationship, took to Instagram to express her outrage at Vanderpump's comments.

"Absolutely and disgustingly diabolical," Doute wrote, criticizing Vanderpump for "enabling" Kennedy's behavior. "i will never, ever be okay with this constant abuse enabling behavior. to have the audacity to dumb down not only facts, but also feelings, makes me sick to my stomach," she continued.

Doute, who is currently expecting her first child, expressed her sympathy for survivors of domestic violence who may not be believed or supported. "To every woman who is a survivor of DV and wasn't believed or supported, I'm so sorry," she wrote.

Kennedy was arrested in December 2024 following an alleged altercation with Lewber. While no injuries were reported and charges against him were dropped, the incident sparked public scrutiny and raised concerns about Kennedy's behavior.

Doute has previously spoken out about the alleged abuse she experienced during her relationship with Kennedy. "James did his homework. He knew exactly what to do to get me," she revealed in a 2015 interview. "He knew when to swoop in - when I wasn't really friends with anyone yet. [He also knew] basically don't act like Tom [Sandoval] and don't be an ass, and then I'm going to like him."

Following his arrest, Kennedy vowed to focus on his sobriety. He and Lewber have since parted ways.
