AceShowbiz - Kanye West heaped praise on his wife Bianca Censori following their shocking stunt at the Grammy red carpet. "My wife's first red carpet opened a whole new world," he gushed.
"I keep staring at this photo like I was staring in admiration that night Thinking wow I am so lucky to have a wife that is so smart talented brave and hot," Ye wrote, sharing a photo of the controversial transparent mini-dress.
"She took a break from shooting her first film to make a movie in real life We tailored that invisible dress 6 times And just like magic poof we disappeared. Thank you to all the outlets who recognized us and gave us back the energy we put in."
The rapper especially gave a shoutout to Vogue for an article praising Censori, which he felt placed her "in a strong positive light and also recognizes rightful strength."
He candidly addressed critics questioning how his mother would feel, "You don't know my mama b****."
During their striking entrance at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Censori initially wore a floor-length fur coat, only to reveal a see-through dress that completely exposed her.
Speculation arose soon after the couple left the event, with rumors suggesting they had been escorted out because of the dress. However, it was later revealed that Kanye and his wife left on their own without attending the awards show.
The couple's provocative appearance has not only drawn controversy but also support. While detractors, including panelists on "The View," found the outfit inappropriate and degrading, others, like Vogue journalist Raven Smith, defended Censori's choice.
"I hate to state the obvious, but a woman can wear whatever she wants," Smith wrote, adding that it's not wise to assume that Censori's "not fully in control of herself, or that she's not thoroughly enjoying her exhibitionism," just because she didn't wear any clothes.
Ye, who faced backlash in 2022 for antisemitic remarks and has been involved in several lawsuits, reiterated his wife's empowerment and the artistic decision behind the dress. The rapper's song "Carnival" was nominated for best rap song at the Grammys although the award went to Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us."
The Grammys red carpet is just the latest instance of the couple's eye-catching public antics while the public remains divided on their reactions to his antics.
