AceShowbiz - Amidst widespread wildfire evacuations in the Los Angeles area, rapper Kid Cudi's residence became the target of a burglary. On January 15, around 5:00 PM, security cameras captured footage of a shirtless man casually roaming Cudi's kitchen.
The intruder indulged in Cudi's food, used his bathroom, and even took a shower before deputies from the L.A. County Sheriff's Department arrived and apprehended him. The suspect faces felony burglary and theft of utilities charges and is currently held on $150,000 bail.
The incident happened as countless people in Los Angeles fled their houses to escape the ongoing wildfires. In a desperate attempt to deter people from breaking into their residences, some homeowners even put up signs that read, "Looters will be shot."
Kid Cudi was among celebrities that evacuated amid the crisis. "Hey guys, had to evacuate my crib. I'm safe, with loved ones, dogs are safe," he previously informed his fans. "For all the folks who lost their homes, people that are dealing with this, my heart hurts for you and I'm praying for us all and I send ALL my love to you and yours. If you have to evacuate, get out immediately. Don't hesitate. Be safe LA. Love you guys."
The wildfires have claimed lives, destroyed property, and displaced residents, leading to a rise in looting, burglary, and other crimes. Federal and local authorities have formed a Joint Regional Fire Crimes Task Force to investigate and prosecute such offenses.
Los Angeles law enforcement officials vow to hold criminals accountable and protect victims from further unfortunate incidents. They warn that anyone involved in wildfire-related crimes will face severe legal consequences.
