After chopping off her hair which she 'immediately regretted,' Julia Fox ditched her usual revealing style for a striking masculine look at the New York premiere of her latest film, 'Presence'
- Jan 17, 2025
AceShowbiz - Julia Fox, the 34-year-old Hollywood it-girl, stunned attendees by debuting a dramatic hair transformation at the AMC Lincoln Square. Known for breaking fashion norms with her daring looks, Fox switched her style by sporting an edgy platinum blonde pixie cut that perfectly matched her bleached eyebrows.
Her new hairstyle was accentuated by her androgynous outfit, including a black long-tail tuxedo jacket, a colorful floral button-up blouse, and a white t-shirt. Fox completed the look with baggy black slacks and brown leather platform loafers.
Fox seemed to have mixed feelings about her new haircut, as evident from a recent TikTok video she shared. In the video, Fox can be seen holding a scissor, hesitating before making the big chop.
She mouthed to an audio clip saying, "Girl, don't do it. It's not worth it. I'm not going to do it, girl. I was just thinking about it. I'm not going to do it." Moments later, she revealed, "I did it," with the caption "Immediately regretted it." Despite her initial regret, fans in the comments section showered her with praise, assuring her how stunning the new look was.
After her solo shots on the red carpet, Fox reunited with her "Presence" co-stars Lucy Liu and Callina Liang. Liu, 56, dazzled in a sleeveless black lace frock with a sheer skirt, showcasing her toned legs while Liang, 26, turned heads in a skintight white floor-length dress.
Directed by Steven Soderbergh, "Presence" follows a family convinced they are not alone in their new suburban home. The film, which also stars "This Is Us" alum Chris Sullivan, had its world premiere at last year's Sundance Film Festival and is set to hit theaters on January 24.
Fox's appearance at the "Presence" premiere marks her first red carpet event of 2025. She last attended the NGV Gala 2024 in Melbourne, where she wowed in a mermaid-inspired chainmail gown by Ella Jackson.
Known for her cutting-edge fashion choices, Fox continues to be a trendsetter and style icon while balancing her roles as an actress and a New York Times bestselling author. Her candid memoir, "Down the Drain," released in 2023, chronicles her battle with addiction, her complex relationship with her father, and her ascent in New York City's social scene.
"Presence" is the latest addition to Fox's filmography, which includes notable performances in "Uncut Gems" (2019), "PVT Chat" (2020), and "No Sudden Move" (2021). Fox will soon star in the LGBTQ romantic comedy "Perfect," further diversifying her acting portfolio. Along with her professional achievements, Fox is also a dedicated mother to her three-year-old son, Valentino.
