AceShowbiz - It was Deon Cole's 53rd birthday on January 9, but the comedian had a tough week. He revealed on Instagram that he had been hospitalized and, upon his return home, was forced to evacuate due to the Los Angeles wildfires.
He did not disclose the reason for his admission, sharing only a photo from his hospital bed while thanking his followers for their love and support. "Thank u all for your birthday well wishes. I sure could use them. Thank you all," he wrote.
Cole's ordeal continued the following day, January 10, when he had to flee his home due to the escalating fires. In a distressing Instagram post, he shared a video that showed him getting behind the wheel and driving away from his house.
"This day is devastating," he wrote. "Left the hospital earlier, sick, went home, then had to pack what I could to evacuate." He added, "As I drove away I seen the fire rising from behind my house, it's a nightmare!!!"
Numerous celebrities offered their support, including Jamie Foxx, Busta Rhymes, and Patti LaBelle.
Amidst the chaos, Cole managed to salvage a cherished possession: flowers given to him by his mother before her passing in 2021. He also shared that he had canceled his birthday party due to the wildfires, expressing sympathy for those who had lost their homes.
The destructive Palisades Fire and Eaton Fire ravaged the Los Angeles region, leaving countless celebrities and residents without shelter. Cole's harrowing experience serves as a stark reminder of the devastation caused by these wildfires.
