This achievement surpasses Mariah's previous record with "One Sweet Day," her 1995-96 hit with Boyz II Men, which spent 16 weeks at number one.
The festive favorite, released in 1994, climbed to the top of the charts in 2019 thanks to the surge in streaming. Since then, it has held the number one spot for multiple weeks each holiday season, contributing to its historic run. The only songs that have had longer stays at the top are Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" and Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road," each ruling for 19 weeks.
On the Streaming Songs chart, "All I Want for Christmas Is You" now holds the record for the longest number one run, spending 21 weeks at the peak and surpassing "Old Town Road's" 20-week record.
