AceShowbiz - In a new Netflix docuseries "Aaron Rodgers: Enigma," NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers expresses his disdain for the notoriety that came with his success, citing his romantic relationships with high-profile women as a contributing factor to his celebrity.
The 41-year-old quarterback laments how his rise to stardom following his Super Bowl win in 2010, his first NFL MVP Award in 2011, and his appearances in State Farm commercials brought unprecedented scrutiny and challenges that he often found overwhelming.
"I always find it interesting when people say, 'Well, this is what you signed up for,' " Rodgers says. However, he counters this common perception, asserting, "I never signed up for that."
He admits his history of dating Hollywood stars added fuel to public scrutiny. "I didn't do myself any favors with some of the girls I dated after that that were in the public eye," he says, referring to his former girlfriends Olivia Munn, Danica Patrick, and ex-fiancee Shailene Woodley.
Rodgers dated Munn from 2014 to 2017, Patrick from 2018 to 2020, and Woodley from late 2020 until they called off their engagement in 2021.
Woodley recently opened up about the breakup, saying it was "not right" but also "beautiful."
