Incarcerated rapper Diddy has given up hope to get released from jail on a bond and accepted his fate to remain in custody until his trial for sex trafficking and racketeering in May 2025.

AceShowbiz - Sean "P. Diddy" Combs has withdrawn his appeals to be released from prison before his upcoming trial in May 2025. Legal counsel for Combs, who is currently incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, filed a motion earlier today to dismiss his appeal for bail.

Combs had previously been denied bail three times and ultimately accepted his fate, conceding to remain in custody as he awaits his trial. The motion, which Combs signed, states that he understands the consequences of voluntary dismissal of the appeal and desires to withdraw it.

For months, Combs had lobbied for his release, offering a $50 million bond backed by equity in his homes, security monitoring, and assurances that he would not interfere with the investigations surrounding the charges.

However, during a bail appeal hearing on November 27, Judge Arun Subramanian ruled that there was evidence supporting a serious risk of witness tampering, as Combs had contacted witnesses even after his grand jury testimony in June 2024.

Just yesterday, Subramanian ruled that Combs would be granted access to a preloaded laptop to review discovery materials and prepare for his trial. He will have access to the laptop from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., seven days per week.

Combs' legal troubles stem from a bombshell lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in November 2023, alleging that he drugged, sexually assaulted, and trafficked her. The lawsuit was subsequently settled the next day, triggering a series of similar lawsuits.

Jay-Z was recently named in a refiled case, with an accuser claiming that he and Combs raped her when she was 13 years old in 2000. Jay-Z has vehemently denied the allegations.
