The 'Only Murders in the Building' actress and the 'Wicked' star call each other 'Angel on Earth' following the former's support for the latter, who recently called out 'evil tabloids.'

AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande swooned fans with their sweet interaction at the Academy Women's Luncheon Presented by Chanel. The former Disney darling and the former Nickelodeon star have traded compliments after bonding at the event, which was held on Tuesday, December 10.

At the luncheon, Selena and Ariana were seated next to each other. Taking to her Instagram Story to share a photo of their hands on their place cards, the "Wolfs" singer dubbed the "7 Rings" songstress "An angel on earth." Ariana then reposted the image to her own Story and returned the compliment as writing, "That's you @selenagomez."

At the event, Selena seemed to acknowledge Ariana's struggle to deal with rumors about her. During her speech, the "Only Murders in the Building" star pointed to the "Wicked" actress as she said on the podium, "I know firsthand how isolating this industry could feel at times, but moments like this, in rooms like this and talking with all these amazing women, it reminds me that I am not alone."

The two stars, who were recently nominated at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, also posed together at the event. While some people pointed out the height difference between Selena and Ariana, others gushed over their sweet interaction.

"Women supporting women. Thats it. We love and NEED to see it!!" someone commented on a photo of Selena and Ariana at the luncheon. Another chimed in, "I honestly love this, Selena has always been so good to Ari and supportive of her. I don't understand why some of us are always so mean to her when Ari also shows her love."

Ariana revealed that she personally requested to sit next to Selena at the Academy Women's Luncheon. "I respect her so much, and I've always adored her. I was really happy for her to see us on that list together. It was very special," she said on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Selena told Variety that Ariana was one of the first people to congratulate her on her Golden Globe nomination for "Emilia Perez". The "Come & Get It" singer said, "Ariana texted me and it was the sweetest note and it was about six in the morning."
