AceShowbiz - While honoring producer Jack Antonoff with the Producer of the Decade award at Variety's Hitmakers event, Lana Del Rey made a surprising confession about her own love life. The singer credited Antonoff's marriage to actress Margaret Qualley as a major reason why she decided to marry her husband, 49-year-old Louisiana boat captain Jeremy Dufrene.
"I'm grateful for [Antonoff] for the example he gave me in his marriage to [Margaret Qualley]," Del Rey said. "I saw the way he looked at her when he met her, and he's a big reason why I waited so long to get married and why I met my amazing husband."
Del Rey publicly introduced Dufrene to the media in September 2024, bringing him as her date to a high-profile wedding in New York. Just weeks later, the pair obtained their marriage license and were married the same day.
Del Rey acknowledged the challenges of finding an honest partner in the entertainment industry. "I feel like there's a singers' curse around meeting an honest partner who has no skin in the game, no dog in the race," she said. "It's super nerve-wracking to hold on to an innocent perception of how things could go when you're in an industry where maybe your values and your morals don't quite match up."
Dufrene, who operates an alligator boat tour company outside of New Orleans, seems to fit the bill for Del Rey's ideal partner. According to his bio on the company's website, Dufrene left a job at a chemical plant to pursue his passion for running tours, where he interacts with wildlife.
