AceShowbiz - Laura Benanti has revealed her long-standing dislike for Zachary Levi, recalling her experience working with him on Broadway and expressing her disapproval of his recent controversies.
Back in 2016, Benanti and Levi played the romantic leads in the musical "She Loves Me." According to Benanti, she has always harbored a negative opinion of Levi's behavior.
"I never liked him," Benanti stated on "That's a Gay Ass Podcast." "Everyone was like, 'He's so great!' And I was like, 'No, he's not. He's sucking up all the f**king energy in this room. He wants to mansplain everybody's part to them.' "
Benanti further criticized Levi's attempts to engage the cast in pre-show dance parties, which she found disruptive. "He really sucked everybody in with his like dance party energy. Like, 'We're doing a dance party at half-hour.' I was like, 'Good luck. Have fun.' "
Benanti's disapproval has escalated following Levi's recent comments regarding Donald Trump and the death of "She Loves Me" actor Gavin Creel. "To use his memory for his political agenda and to watch him try to make himself cry until he had one single tear, which he did not wipe away, I was like, 'F**k you forever,' " Benanti said.
Benanti's remarks have garnered mixed reactions, with some supporting her stance and others questioning her timing. Nonetheless, they provide a glimpse into the ongoing tensions between the two former co-stars.
