AceShowbiz - While Maria Georgas denied that she had a romantic relationship with Pete Davidson, a new report suggested that she might not tell the truth. If the new report is to be believed, "The Bachelor" alum was "pressured" by the comedian's inner circle to shut down claims that they used to date and that he went to rehab.
"Pete has been sober for four months, and everyone around him is really proud of it," an insider told The U.S. Sun. "So when it came out that he was in treatment and dating Maria, they went into protective mode."
The source noted that Pete and Maria dated on a "very limited bass." That prompted the "Saturday Night Live" alum's loved one to be "concerned and jumped in to protect him" when the rumors about the pair emerged online. "Pete is concerned about the privacy of different people he's involved with," the source added.
The source additionally confirmed that Pete was in Florida to receive treatment. "He has a therapist in Florida who works on processing traumatic memories and dealing with PTSD," claimed the informant. "Pete travels to see this therapist on a regular basis for treatment."
The insider emphasized that Pete is currently "clean and in a good headspace." The source continued, "This was for mental health, not substance abuse. He's keeping to himself for the most part. He is with his mom often, and has a movie coming out."
Another source, meanwhile, claimed that Maria initially was against the idea of her putting out a statement on Instagram Stories, though Pete's people managed to convince her. Of Maria and Pete's flight, the source shared, "It started in mid-September and ended in mid-October which makes it so weird he asked her to say he was sober and not in rehab."
The informant believed that Maria was "definitely pressured" to speak up. "I think she wants to try and protect herself as this is her first A-list relationship, but she definitely shouldn't have done that," said the source.
Pete allegedly returned from his treatment in Florida to New York City to prove that he's not in rehab. "The Suicide Squad" actor was recently snapped attending a Brooklyn Nets game with his mom Amy.
