AceShowbiz - Cynthia Erivo sparked chatter with a new video taken at the New York City premiere of "Wicked". The actress was seen giving a curt response during an interview on the red carpet.

In the clip, she was asked by Ajay Porter of the Mystery Fashionist to share which designers she and co-star Ariana Grande were wearing for the occasion. The stars were also asked to rate their outfits out of ten.

The interviewer later asked, "What is a common misconception about y'all?" While Ariana was seen gasping over the question, Chyntia replied, "I don't know what the common misconception is at all, but that's not a fashion question, is it?"

The actress' response apparently didn't sit well with most Internet users. Some were thinking that giving such a rude reply wasn't necessary.

"Girl! That was unnecessary!" One user wrote. Meanwhile, another said, "That Cynthia lady seems so rude."

However, some others applauded Cynthia for her response. One commented, "Absolutely horrendous question to ask. Yikes. They were kind to even respond to such nonsense." Someone else added, "I'm afraid I love her lmao."

This wasn't the first time for Cynthia to raise people's eyebrows with her "rude" response online. Earlier this month, she called out a fan-edited poster in which the fan "erased" her character Elphaba's eyes.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she admitted to feeling regret for lashing out. "I think I'm really protective of the role. I'm passionate about it and I know the fans are passionate about it, and I think for me it was just like a human moment of wanting to protect little Elphaba," she reflected. "I probably should've called my friends, but it's fine."

The actress admitted that her initial reaction was emotional, and she should have reached out to her friends for support instead. She added, "It degrades me. It degrades us."
