AceShowbiz - President-elect Donald Trump has selected former Wisconsin congressman and Fox Business host Sean Duffy to lead the Department of Transportation. Duffy, a vocal Trump supporter, is the second Fox commentator to be picked for the incoming cabinet, following Pete Hegseth's nomination as secretary of defense.

Trump praised Duffy as a "tremendous and well-liked public servant" with the experience needed to lead the department, which has an annual budget of roughly $110 billion and a workforce of nearly 55,000. He highlighted Duffy's career in Congress, where he served as a Republican from 2011 to 2019, and his work on the House Financial Services Committee.

In a statement announcing his choice, Trump said Duffy would "use his experience and the relationships he has built over many years in Congress to rebuild our nation's infrastructure and usher in a golden age of travel." He emphasized Duffy's focus on safety, efficiency, and innovation, as well as his commitment to ensuring a positive travel experience for all Americans.

Trump also pointed to Duffy's personal life as evidence of his understanding of the importance of family travel. Duffy is married to "Fox & Friends" weekend host Rachel Campos-Duffy, and they have nine children.

Duffy's nomination comes as the Department of Transportation faces a number of challenges, including ongoing safety issues at Boeing, the threat of labor action, and the need to address the country's crumbling infrastructure. He will also oversee the Federal Aviation Administration, which is grappling with air traffic control problems, and the Federal Railroad Administration, which is implementing safety reforms after a fiery derailment in East Palestine, Ohio.
