The bitter legal dispute between the former Hollywood power couple over their French winery Chateau Miraval has taken a significant turn as it heads towards trial.

AceShowbiz - The epic battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie over their $500 million French winery Chateau Miraval is set to go to trial after a Los Angeles Superior Court judge denied Jolie's attempt to dismiss the case. According to sources, depositions will be taken, potentially revealing more intimate details about the former couple. However, the trial date could be as far out as 2026.

The dispute began when Jolie sold her shares in Miraval to the wine division of Stoli Group in 2021. Pitt claimed this sale violated an agreement giving him the right of first refusal to purchase her shares. Pitt filed a lawsuit in response, seeking to void the deal.

In her defense, Jolie alleged that Pitt wanted her to sign a non-disclosure agreement covering up past misconduct. Pitt's lawyers, on the other hand, have maintained that the case is solely a "straightforward business dispute."

The former couple purchased Miraval in 2008 for an estimated $60 million. It is now valued at $162 million. Since Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, the duo has been battling over the vineyard.

The dispute has dragged on, with Jolie also filing a $350 million lawsuit against Pitt for alleged misuse of winery assets. The Stoli Group, which purchased Jolie's shares, is also seeking to dismiss a case against them.

Despite recent setbacks for Jolie, the case is now moving forward towards a courtroom showdown. Depositions of both parties are expected to take place, and a trial date could be set as early as April 2025, though it may ultimately be heard in 2026.

Insiders believe that a settlement between Pit and Jolie is unlikely at this point. The legal battle has already cost both parties dearly, underscoring the acrimonious nature of their divorce and the high stakes involved in the Chateau Miraval dispute.
