The pop star has cleared up confusion among fans regarding potential changes to the lyrics of the iconic song 'Popular' from the upcoming film adaptation of 'Wicked'.

AceShowbiz - Ariana Grande, who takes on the role of Glinda in the highly anticipated "Wicked" movie, took to social media to gently correct the official movie account's promotional video for the song "Popular". In the video, which features a sneak peek of Grande's performance, the lyrics read "I'll teach you the proper poise when you talk to boys." Grande commented on the post, stating, "it’s 'ploys' !!!!!! i love you @wickedmovie."

This confusion stems from the fact that some sources, such as Genius, list the lyrics as "proper poise." However, upon further investigation, it appears that the original Broadway cast recording features Kristin Chenoweth, the original Glinda, clearly singing "ploys." The lyric video on the official Wicked Broadway YouTube account also uses the word "ploys."

Entertainment Weekly reached out to composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz for clarification, but it is believed that Grande is correct. Her close relationship with Chenoweth and her passion for the role lend credibility to her interpretation.

"Popular" is an iconic song associated with the character of Glinda in "Wicked." She sings about the perks of popularity while transforming Elphaba, who will become the Wicked Witch of the West.

Grande has already received rave reviews and Oscar buzz for her performance in the film. The story has been split into two parts, with the first set to hit theaters on November 22. The cast also includes Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh and Jeff Goldblum.
