AceShowbiz - Queen Camilla has shared an update on her health after recovering from a chest infection that forced her to step aside from royal duties last week.
The 77-year-old Queen spoke about her recovery during a reception for The Booker Prize Foundation at Clarence House on Tuesday, November 12. "I'm obviously getting much better, bit of sort of coughing going on," she said, adding that she was "on the mend."
"These things always take a bit of time to get rid of," she told American author Percival Everett. "You think you got rid of it, they just sort of hang on for a bit."
Buckingham Palace announced Camilla's illness on November 5, stating that she had been advised by doctors to rest. She canceled all her engagements for the week, including the Remembrance Day events.
Despite her improved health, Camilla will not be joining King Charles on the red carpet for the premiere of "Gladiator II" on Wednesday as a precaution.
Camilla's recovery comes amid a year of health concerns for the royal family. In February, King Charles III was diagnosed with cancer, and in March, Kate, Princess of Wales, announced she had been diagnosed with cancer as well.
