AceShowbiz - Jessica Simpson allegedly is separating from Eric Johnson (II) due to trouble in paradise. It has been reported that the "These Boots Are Made for Walkin' " songstress may file for divorce from her husband after 10 years of marriage.
On Wednesday, October 23, a source revealed an update on alleged marital issues that the 44-year-old singer/actress and the former professional football player are facing. Speaking to In Touch, the source spilled, "It's only a matter of time before she files for divorce." Of their marriage, the source said, "It's pretty much over."
Days prior, an insider claimed that Eric has been distancing himself from Jessica due to several reasons, including her "crazy" mood swings. The insider told Life & Style on October 18, "Eric has had it with her crazy mood swings," noting that he has kept his distance from her "for more than a year."
The insider went on to explain, "Eric has been doing his own thing for longer than anyone seems to know. He's been very vocal about how difficult it is to live with someone so obsessed with surgery and so detached from reality most of the time." The insider continued, "And Jessica feels like their marriage has lost its romance. Everyone's wondering how long they can go on like this."
Jessica and Eric have been hit with rumors of marital tension since earlier this year. In March, it was said that they have faced financial strain and a lack of time together. Though so, they remained committed to their relationship as they sought couples counseling, which has reportedly "saved their marriage" by teaching them "invaluable life lessons."
In April, Jessica and Eric appeared to have debunked the split speculations by going on a trip together. The couple took their kids, Maxwell "Maxi" Drew, Ace Knute and Birdie Mae, on a family vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She shared some photos from the getaway on Instagram and wrote in the caption, "2024 Spring Breakin' with the fam was EPIC!"
However, Jessica was later spotted without her wedding ring on several occasions, making many believe that she and Eric failed to solve their issues. Of her ditching the band, a source said, "It makes her feel like a fraud wearing her ring if they're not getting along."
