AceShowbiz - Kelsey Parker, the widow of The Wanted's Tom Parker, has expressed her gratitude for Liam Payne's compassion during Tom's illness and after his death. She revealed that Payne "reached out" to the family when Tom was diagnosed with brain cancer and was incredibly supportive throughout his battle.
"Liam was really, really supportive when Tom fell ill," Kelsey said. "When Tom got sick, it really resonated with Liam and he reached out. He actually performed at a benefit show for Tom. And when Tom passed, Liam came to Tom's funeral."
Kelsey described Payne as "a good soul" who didn't hesitate to provide both Tom and herself with emotional support. "He felt that he needed to be there," she said. "He always used to reach out to me. He'd be like, 'Kels, I can see that you're doing so well.' He always checked in."
Kelsey's words echoed those of The Wanted bandmates, who paid tribute to Payne onstage at a concert after his passing. Max George said, "Liam [was] really, really supportive when Tom fell ill."
Payne's kindness and support have been met with admiration and gratitude. His actions serve as a testament to the power of human compassion and the interconnectedness that exists within the music industry, even among artists who once had rivalries.
