Lee Pace, known for his role as Ronan the Accuser in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has joined the cast of Paramount's upcoming adaptation of Stephen King's novel, 'The Running Man'.

AceShowbiz - Paramount Pictures' reboot of "The Running Man" has added another Marvel alum to its cast. Lee Pace, who memorably portrayed Ronan the Accuser in "Guardians of the Galaxy", has signed on to join Glen Powell, Josh Brolin and Katy O'Brian in the film.

Edgar Wright, known for his directorial work on "Shaun of the Dead" and "Baby Driver", is helming the project and co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Bacall. Production is set to begin in London early next year.

"The Running Man", originally published in 1982 under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, is a dystopian novel that unfolds in a totalitarian America where violent game shows are used to entertain and pacify the masses. The story follows a desperate man who joins the titular game show in hopes of winning enough money to care for his sick daughter.

Pace's role in the film is believed to be that of the ruthless chief hunter for the network airing the game shows. His character is tasked by Brolin's character, the ruthless producer of the show, with tracking down Powell's character, the desperate man trying to survive the game.

Wright's vision for the reboot is to stay more faithful to King's novel than the 1987 film adaptation starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. He believes that remakes have value when they offer something new or a different perspective on the original material.

The Running Man is scheduled to hit theaters exclusively on November 21, 2025. The film is produced by Simon Kinberg, Nira Park and Wright.
