AceShowbiz - Alana Haim, the musician known for her role as part of the rock band HAIM, is continuing her foray into acting following her debut in Paul Thomas Anderson's "Licorice Pizza". Haim has signed on for two back-to-back feature projects featuring an impressive cast of bold-faced names.
In "The Mastermind", an art heist drama set during the Vietnam War and the burgeoning women's liberation movement in America, Haim will star alongside Josh O'Connor. The film is directed by Kelly Reichardt and produced by filmscience. Global film distributor, production company, and streaming service Mubi is financing and distributing the project.
Next, Haim will join Zendaya Coleman and Robert Pattinson in Kristoffer Borgli's "The Drama". The film centers on a couple (played by Zendaya Coleman and Pattinson) who experience a crisis in the days leading up to their wedding when unexpected revelations shake one of their perceptions of the other. The story reportedly explores the theme of the blindness of love. Borgli wrote the script and will direct the feature, which begins shooting later this month. Square Peg is producing the film.
Haim has received critical acclaim for her acting debut in "Licorice Pizza", earning Golden Globe, BAFTA and Critics Choice nominations for her performance. She has also appeared in Anderson's latest untitled feature, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and is set for release in 2025.
Haim is represented by UTA, Entertainment 360 and Hansen Jacobson.
