The former 'Today' co-host and his girlfriend Amy Robach face an unfortunate setback during the 2024 Chicago Marathon, forcing Holmes to withdraw due to the injury.

AceShowbiz - T.J. Holmes, 47, took to Instagram to share his experience, posting a photo of himself strapped to a gurney in an ambulance with the caption "So this happened." A video showed him looking concerned while riding in the emergency vehicle.

The injury occurred between the 15th and 21st mile of the race. Amy Robach, 51, also seemed to leave the marathon early, as per her Instagram Stories. Holmes and Robach are avid runners and have participated in races together, including the New York City Half Marathon.

The couple's love of running was a bonding factor even before their romantic relationship began. Holmes has a tattoo of the New York City Marathon route on his arm, which he ran in 2023 and 2022.

Holmes and Robach's relationship sparked dating rumors in November 2022 after they were both separated from their respective spouses. They have been open about their intentions to spend their lives together, but have no immediate plans to marry.

The unfortunate injury during the Chicago Marathon was a reminder of the challenges that runners can face. Holmes had previously shared that he was struggling with an Achilles tendon injury during training.

Despite the setback, Holmes and Robach remain passionate about running. They have set their sights on future marathons and have a shared goal of completing the London Marathon.
