According to a new source, Hailey shared the post on Monday, October 7 because she feels like a "gatekeeper" for her husband. "Hailey believes that she is Justin’s gatekeeper and this was her way of showing the world how she feels about the whole situation [with Diddy] - not Justin."

Of the throwback snap, which featured Justin flipping both middle fingers in the air, the insider continued, "Out of the 100s of photos of Justin giving the middle finger, she had to choose one from 2017 that was taken before he got back together with his ex Selena Gomez again."

However, the source thought that "Hailey needs to let Justin act for himself instead of using an image of him to convey what she feels he should be saying. But Justin really has no voice right now and it is sad."

In Hailey's post, the "Sorry" singer could be seen going shirtless and only wearing board shorts in the photo. Hailey, meanwhile, simply wrote over the pic, "mood." The post only further raised people's eyebrows as it came amid speculations and concerns regarding Justin's past relationship with Diddy, who was arrested for sex crimes last month.

Justin reportedly had been intentionally avoiding the drama surrounding the disgraced rapper. "He's aware of Diddy's arrest and all the allegations. It's not anything that he wants to focus on, though," a source told PEOPLE, adding that the "Ghost" hitmaker is focusing on being a loving dad and husband instead.

The insider additionally noted that the new dad simply "wants to focus on being a great dad and husband." Justin allegedly felt fulfilled and content, prioritizing his family's happiness over the tumultuous circumstances involving his former mentor.
