AceShowbiz - In the Tuesday, October 8 episode of "Dancing with the Stars", guest judge Gene Simmons made headlines for his comments and questionable scorekeeping. On the Hair Metal Night, Simmons initially awarded model Brooks Nader a 10 for her performance, but co-host Julianne Hough later revealed that he had actually keyed in a 9. Simmons also drew criticism for his comments about the female dancers' bodies.
The night saw performances set to hair metal classics, including Bon Jovi, Aerosmith and Twisted Sister. Notable moments included a cape-twirling Paso Doble by NBA star Dwight Howard and a Jive by Olympic rugby player Ilona Maher.
However, the highlight of the episode was the double elimination. After combining the judges' scores and viewers' votes from Monday's "Soul Train Night" and Tuesday's "Hair Metal Night", Reginald VelJohnson and Eric Roberts became the third and fourth celebrities to leave the competition.
Despite the controversy surrounding Simmons' comments, he also praised certain dancers for their performances. He complimented Chandler Kinney for her emotional connection and Brooks Nader for her charisma.
Meanwhile, co-host Alfonso Ribeiro apologized for the use of Scorpions' "Rock You Like a Hurricane" as the closing song, given the impending landfall of Hurricane Milton.
In a surprising twist, former "The Bachelor" star Joey Graziadei and partner Jenna Johnson emerged at the top of the leaderboard with a total score of 70 out of 80. The remaining 9 couples will continue their journey towards the Mirrorball Trophy next week.
