AceShowbiz - On October 5, Olivia Rodrigo made history with her first-ever concert in the Philippines. The 21-year-old pop star not only delighted her fans with her incredible performance, but she also made a significant contribution to women's health by donating all net profits from ticket sales to Jhpiego, a charity that supports healthcare for women and girls.
Rodrigo, who is half Filipina, had long dreamed of performing in the Philippines. After her sold-out show at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, she expressed her gratitude to her fans and announced her partnership with Jhpiego. "I'm so stoked that all the net ticket sales from last night could be donated to @jhpiego through my fund 4 good," she wrote on Instagram.
During her visit to Manila, Rodrigo visited the Jhpiego office and was impressed by their work providing life-saving healthcare to fight against conditions such as cervical cancer, malaria, HIV, and complications from pregnancy and childbirth. "It was the most special show and the most meaningful trip," she said. "To say I'm grateful doesn't even cut it."
Rodrigo has been supporting women's causes throughout her "Guts World Tour" via her Fund 4 Good, which donates a portion of her ticket proceeds to local nonprofits that champion girls' educations, reproductive rights, and more.
Jhpiego expressed their gratitude for Rodrigo's generosity, stating, "Her commitment to women's health will make a lasting impact." Together, they are working to help more young women and girls access the care and support they need. Rodrigo's donation is a testament to her commitment to using her platform to support important causes and make a positive difference in the world.
