AceShowbiz - Another old interview featuring Sean "P. Diddy" Combs has resurfaced online amid his legal drama. A video from "The Wendy Williams Show" has caught people's attention as it featured an awkward moment between Wendy Williams and the disgraced rapper.
In the 2017 clip, Diddy discussed his then new movie "Can't Stop, Won't Stop". Speaking to Wendy, the hip-hop star said that he made the movie not for money, but to share a story "that had a happy ending" for African American men and women instead.
At one point, Wendy's then-teenager son Kevin Hunt Jr. was mentioned during their sit-down. "And let me tell you something, as the mother of a now 16-year-old," Wendy said, before Diddy interjected, "Mhm, who I met backstage, he's a great young man."
While Wendy thanked Diddy for the compliment, the former radio host could be seen spacing out and stuttering her words. "You, you represent a lot to a lot of people in general. I mean you're an example to people who aren't black, like 'Yes we can, yes we can,' you're an example to boys, like your boys, my boys, their boys, boys in general," she said.
Upon catching wind of the old interview, fans believed that Diddy was threatening Wendy by mentioning her son. "That was a threat, he's saying play nice," one user commented. "The way that she hesitated, you know that she knew about him!" another echoed the sentiment.
"It looks like her mind is quickly flipping through all the different horrifying things that could've happened backstage..," someone else added, with another comment read, "The way she wanted to say 'you stay away from my son.' " One other noted "I can hear her internally screaming!"
After Diddy was arrested and indicted for sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution earlier this month in New York City, Internet user started pointing out how Wendy had been talking against Diddy for years. "Wendy Williams told us a decades ago about Diddy. The streets have been talking for a very long time," one fan wrote on X. "Wendy Williams been telling y'all about Diddy for years."
Meanwhile, one other lamented the loss of her Hot Topics segment as "The Wendy Williams Show" ended its 13-year run in its final episode in June 2022. The person joked, "She would've dedicated the entire hot topics to Diddy as she sips her tea while giving us the side eye after throwing shade and saying, 'I told ya so.' "
