AceShowbiz - Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and Kim Porter's four children are speaking out after a memoir claiming to be written by their mother was posthumously released online. In a joint statement issued on Tuesday night, September 24, Quincy Jones, Christian a.k.a. King Combs, and twins Jessie and D'Lila decried the book titled "KIM'S LOST WORDS: A Journey for Justice, From the Other Side".
The statement, which was published on the kids' respective Instagram pages, began, "We have seen so many hurtful and false rumors circulating about our parents, Kim Porter and Sean Combs' relationship, as well as about our mom's tragic passing, that we feel the need to speak out."
"Claims that our mom wrote a book are simply untrue," they wrote in their statement. "She did not, and anyone claiming to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves. Additionally, please understand that any so-called 'friend' speaking on behalf of our mom or her family is not a friend, nor do they have her best interests at heart."
"Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother," their statement continued to read. "She was our world, and nothing has been the same since she passed. While it has been incredibly difficult to reconcile how she could be taken from us too soon, the cause of her death has long been established. There was no foul play. Grief is a lifelong process, and we ask that everyone respect our request for peace as we continue to cope with her loss every day."
"We are deeply saddened that the world has made a spectacle of what has been the most tragic event of our lives. Our mother should be remembered for the beautiful, strong, kind, and loving woman she was. Her memory should not be tainted by horrific conspiracy theories," they pleaded.
The foursome then concluded the statement, "We ask that everyone please respect our mother, Kim Porter, and hold her legacy in high regard so that she may rest in peace. It's what she deserves. We love you and miss you Mommy. Quincy, Christian, Jessie & D'Lila."
Kim had Quincy with singer/songwriter Al B. Sure! and shared Christian, Jessie and D'Lila with Diddy. Diddy later adopted Quincy and raised him as his own child.
Prior to the statement from Kim's children, Diddy's lawyer slammed the "fake" and "shameless" memoir. Erica Wolf told PEOPLE on Tuesday that the memoir is "fake," "offensive" and "a shameless attempt to profit from tragedy."
Meanwhile, Al B. Sure! called for an investigation into the release of the memoir and threatened that the responsible parties will face legal consequences for dragging his name into the matter. He also claimed that Kim was privy to "heinous crimes" committed by her ex-partner Diddy and that her untimely death may have been related to her knowledge, a conspiracy theory that Kim's kids have addressed in their own statement.
