AceShowbiz - Eva Mendes appeared on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" to promote her debut children's book, "Desi, Mami, and the Never-Ending Worries." However, host Jimmy Fallon couldn't resist asking her about her husband Ryan Gosling's performance as host of "Saturday Night Live" earlier this year.
Mendes enthusiastically praised Gosling's performance, highlighting the "Cuban Papi" and "Beavis and Butt-Head" sketches as her favorites. She revealed that her father, who does not speak English, inspired the "Cuban Papi" character's accent, which Gosling had flawlessly adopted. Mendes also shared her admiration for cast members Marcello Hernandez and Kenan Thompson, who played Gosling's friends in the sketch.
Mendes discussed her anxiety and how she hopes her book will convey the importance of not always believing everything you think. She also expressed her delight at seeing her 10-year-old daughter engrossed in reading her book.
In addition to the "SNL" performance, Mendes gushed about Gosling's role as Ken in the upcoming Barbie movie. She shared that their daughters played a significant role in his decision to accept the part.
Mendes also played a series of games with Fallon, demonstrating her competitive spirit and humor. The couple, who have been together for 12 years and share two daughters, maintain a private relationship but often find subtle ways to support each other, as evidenced by Mendes' complimentary Instagram post about Gosling's "I'm Just Ken" Oscars performance.
