AceShowbiz - "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Dolores Catania is eagerly returning to her Ozempic injections. "I am taking my shot tomorrow," she told Page Six at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. "I'm actually overdue and no, I'm not off it."
Catania, 53, had been traveling extensively this summer, spending time in South Africa and Portugal. She claims to have gained around 20 pounds during her adventures, prompting her urgent desire to resume Ozempic use.
Despite concerns raised by some medical professionals, Catania wholeheartedly supports her decision to utilize the drug for weight loss. "I feel good on it," she said. "I've done the research, spoke to so many doctors, and I haven't had one doctor personally say to me, 'It's bad for you.'"
Catania's boyfriend, Paul Connell, has also benefited from Ozempic, losing 50 pounds.
Catania was among the first celebrities to publicly acknowledge using Ozempic for weight loss. In April 2023, she explained to Page Six that she initially began taking it for medical reasons, including menopause, thyroid issues, and inflammation.
However, Ozempic has also been linked to potential side effects. Sharon Osbourne has stated that she has become too thin after using the drug and can't gain weight. Lottie Moss, Kate Moss' younger sister, was hospitalized due to severe dehydration and seizures after taking a high dose.
A recent study revealed 162 deaths in the US associated with Ozempic. Despite these concerns, Catania remains confident in her decision, emphasizing the need for personal research and medical consultations before using the drug.
