Capitalizing on the rise of Ozempic trend in Hollywood, Kourtney enters the weight loss market by introducing a plant-based supplement that claims to mimic the effects of popular weight loss drugs.

AceShowbiz - Kourtney Kardashian's Lemme has joined the growing trend of supplements capitalizing on the popularity of GLP-1 drugs, which have gained fame for their effectiveness in weight loss. Lemme's new offering, GLP-1 Daily, differs from prescription GLP-1 agonists by being a plant-based alternative that does not contain synthetic GLP-1 hormone.
The supplement is formulated with three patented ingredients: Eriomin lemon fruit extract, Supresa saffron extract, and Morosil red orange fruit extract. These extracts have been clinically studied and are claimed to increase GLP-1 levels in the body, leading to reduced appetite and cravings.
Unlike FDA-approved GLP-1 drugs, Lemme GLP-1 Daily is not regulated by the agency, and its efficacy and safety have not been clinically proven in humans. However, the brand emphasizes that the ingredients have undergone human testing, albeit funded by the patent holders.
Limited research exists on the individual ingredients in Lemme's supplement. Eriomin has shown promising results in lowering blood glucose and raising GLP-1 in mice and rats, but human trials are lacking. Saffron extract may contribute to weight loss while Morosil has been associated with reduced BMI in participants who also exercised and restricted calories.
Despite the lack of independent scientific evidence, Lemme markets its supplement as promoting healthy weight management and reducing hunger cravings. The capsules will be available for purchase on the Lemme website from September 16 and will cost $72 per month with a subscription.
Kardashian's brand joins a growing number of wellness companies seeking to tap into the lucrative weight loss market. Hims & Hers, for example, has launched a dedicated weight loss division, while weight-loss drugs are increasingly being used for cosmetic purposes by medspas and telemedicine providers.
It remains to be seen whether Lemme's GLP-1 Daily will be as effective as prescription drugs or if it will become another weight loss supplement with unproven claims. However, its entry into the market highlights the growing demand for alternative weight management options.
