The 'Water' songstress, who was slammed for allegedly being disrespectful to Halle and Lil Nas X at the award-giving event, changes the bio of her X account.

AceShowbiz - Tyla has enraged social media users with her demeanor. After Halle Bailey showered her with love following the MTV VMAs drama, the "Water" singer proudly called herself "entitled uppity African."

On Thursday, September 12, a blog revealed via Instagram that the 22-year-old singer, who allegedly was being disrespectful to Halle and Lil Nas X at the award-giving show, had changed her bio on X, formerly known as Twitter. Her current bio read, "Entitled uppity African [a nail polish emoji] TYLA the album. Out now [tiger and white heart emojis]."

After the blog uploaded a screenshot of Tyla's new bio, Instagram users quickly voiced their thoughts on the matter. In the comments section, one in particular wrote, "This only proves everybody point that a lot of the stuff she be doing is intentional. Because ain't no way you thought Halle was finna hold your damn award. Pls Water girl!"

Another chimed in, "Her PR team should know better to have her better prepared to handle controversy after that breakfast club bit. This ain't it... tries to make halle hold your trophy girl... it's giving entitled and uppity and it ain't cute." A third stated, "This is not the flex she thought it was but best of luck to her."

Tyla has been a hot topic on social media due to her behavior at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. During the ceremony, which took place at the UBS Arena in New York on Wednesday, September 11, she was announced by presenters Halle and Lil Nas X as the winner of Best Afrobeats for her song "Water".

After Lil Nas X handed a Moon Person to Tyla, she took it without embracing him and Halle, who quickly stepped back from the center of the stage. Tyla then told the audience that she was "not strong enough" to hold it before asking the two presenters, "Yes, please, can you hold this for me?" While he took the trophy to help Tyla, Halle stayed still in her position and flashed her radiant big smile.

Tyla's behavior was criticized by many social media users, who noticed that Halle apparently ignored Tyla's request to help hold the trophy. In response, Tyla clarified on X, "Y'all make everything weird... I was not asking my girl Halle... We just girls, STFU I WON A VMAAAA." Despite the clarification, the criticisms did not stop coming to her.

Later on, the one half of the musical duo Chloe x Halle appeared to have defended Tyla, replying to the tweet, "Exactly [two red heart emojis] love u babes congrats." In return, Tyla exclaimed, "thank youuuu," adding a similar emoji.
