The former professional football tight end has been making headlines recently over his social media controversy in which he accidentally live streamed his intimate moment with a woman.

AceShowbiz - Shannon Sharpe can seemingly breathe a sigh of relief. Despite his social media controversy in which he accidentally live streamed his sexual intercourse, the former professional football tight end reportedly won't get reprimanded by ESPN.

A source at the network tells TMZ that Shannon's absence from the Thursday, September 12 episode of "First Take" isn't related to his Instagram Live scandal on Wednesday morning. It's said that Thursdays and Fridays have always been Shannon's day-off.

The insider additionally notes that Shannon is expected to return to his hosting duty on Monday and that he will not receive punishment over the social media chaos.

Shannon made headlines earlier this week when he was heard engaging in a sexual activity with a woman during an Instagram Live. "Obviously I am embarrassed," he said of the incident during an emergency episode of "Nightcap" on Wednesday night. "Someone that is extremely, extremely private and to have one of your most intimate details - the audio - heard for the entire world to hear, I'm embarrassed for a number of reasons."

"There are a lot of people that count on Shannon to be professional at all times and I always try to be professional at all times, even when I'm behind closed doors," he explained himself. "I'm very disappointed in myself, not for the act. I think there are millions and billions of people of consenting age that engage in activities, but for the audio to be heard I'm disappointed in myself. I let a lot of people down."

The 56-year-old then clarified that he wasn't hacked. "My phone wasn't hacked. It wasn't a prank, it was me being a healthy, active male," The Pro Football Hall of Famer, who initially claimed he was hacked, explained. "Ya'll thought I was bulljiving, Unc get it in."

"I threw my phone on the bed, engaged in an activity. I did not know IG live. I've never turned IG live on so I don't know how it works and all of sudden my other phone started going off," he continued.
