The K-pop icon, known for her time with BLACKPINK, ignites the stage at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards with a captivating performance of her solo singles.

AceShowbiz - The K-pop sensation Lisa has just made history with a captivating solo debut performance at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, setting the stage on fire and proving once more why she is a force to be reckoned with. Introducing the performance with a nod to her BLACKPINK roots, Paris Hilton declared, "Tonight she makes her VMA debut as a solo artist. That's hot. And she's sliving."

Dressed in a vibrant red ensemble and positioned before a mirror, Lisa launched into a sultry rendition of "New Woman", accompanied by a troupe of dancers clad in black. She then showcased her versatility, performing a captivating routine of "Rockstar" against a backdrop of flames and wielding an imaginary guitar.

"Rockstar" contends for four awards at this year's VMAs, including Best K-pop, Best Editing, Best Art Direction and Best Choreography. Lisa's previous solo hit "Money" earned her the Best K-Pop trophy in 2022.

As a member of BLACKPINK, Lisa has garnered four VMA wins, including Song of the Summer (2020), Best Metaverse Performance (2022), Best Choreography (2023) and Group of the Year (2023).

In an interview with ELLE, Lisa spoke candidly about her solo journey and the importance of her own creative input, "I think what I've learned from last time is me, myself, saying what I like and what I don't like. I think that's the most important. Because if I say, 'Ah, it's okay,' [people] don't know-like, am I really okay with it? So I have to be able to say 'yes' or 'no.' Not in between."

Despite her solo ventures, Lisa emphasized the continued strength of BLACKPINK, "Of course we're continuing, for sure. We're so proud of BLACKPINK, and I love BLACKPINK. It is not just because of our fans, it's for ourselves. There was no doubt. This is our life."
